Beautiful jewelry at affordable prices, and the lady that makes and sells it is lovely, really knowledgeable about icelandic/nordic history and mythology I highly recommend that you go and visit
... creative and beautiful items like candles, jewelry, keychains, plush, etc.! Unlike many shops on the main street where you can get the exact same things, Gem's shop really offers many unique gifts created by her.

Cool, cozy shop who greet you with a friendly hello and a nice cup of espresso.
He offered free coffee and there was a nice listening station room where you could veg out on sofas and check out the music in the store for free before buying.

... Reykjavik; we visited the larger of the two that is just down the street from Hallgrimskirkja – for much-needed hats and mitts for the cold, rainy days we were out exploring Iceland and to bring home as gifts.
The store, located on the main shopping street, Laugavegur, in downtown Reykjavik is packed with mittens, hats, sweaters, scarves, dresses, etc.

This is a great resource for discount dining (pack lunches for your day trips), snacks, and if you are getting souvenirs like Icelandic salts or chocolates- they will be a third of the price here compared to some...
This is a great place to get food and other things like shampoo, soap ,coffee ,tea ,jam etc...also the best price for lava salts way better here than the souvenir shops.

I have shopped at The Nordic Store both in Iceland and online and I am always very happy with my purchases.
Their prices for lopi yarn area great, even with the shipping included to the US.

For a true local and Icelandic experience, meet Anna and buy a beautiful gift for yourself from her fabulous shop.
We bought several hats, scarfs and gloves, all very soft and warm and we brought a few presents which were well liked bu our friends at home.

We went to see the Iceland Airwaves off-venue show for "Revenge of Calculon" which was fabulous BTW, and browse this incredible shop with an amazing selection from the last 7 decades of all sorts of music.
Maybe it's because back in the States, record shops are kind of like mini road trip destinations depending on where you are, but around Reykjavik, you can walk to several if you have comfortable shoes and time to...

Gilbert will happily show you his work area and let you watch him work on a watch, although he’d much rather tell you about Iceland or one of his fishing trips.
It was great stopping in at the shop, talking to Gilbert, and seeing the craftsmanship that goes into the watches.

Thoroughly enjoyed popping in and out of the shops here full of Icelandic fashions & other offerings.
It was fun to window shop and go into some of the home goods stores and look at the different items that might be popular with locals in Iceland.

Aurum has a wonderful shop in Reykjavik and also a great online shop with fast deliveries worldwide.
Shipping was super fast, love the “boxes” they arrived in, and the jewelry was gorgeous.

Just off the main square this shop operated by a women’s coop deserves its #1 ranking from DK Eyewitness guide for the uniqueness and quality of its locally made items as well as their reasonable cost.
This is a shop owned, operated, and stocked by 11 female artists who use recycled materials to repurpose them into stunningly beautiful pieces of art to purchase.

I love my 'Northern Lights' cardigan that I bought from this friendly quaint shop in downtown Reykjavik.
We first tried looking in one or two of the more 'standard' tourist shops in Reykjavik and I was a bit disappointed by the selection available there.

The manager was really knowledgeable about Icelandic history and really made it a interesting fun experience.
You could easily walk past this as it’s located under a clothes shop but it’s so different and so fun.

These are popular bookstores located throughout Iceland, and we visited many of them during our trip to peruse the nice selections of publications (plus gift items).
I like that there are unique souvenirs next to the usual souvenir-stuff.

This is a beautiful photographic shop, if you are lucky you can meet the owner/artist, it is very cool, lots of print showing Iceland beautifully, and reasonable prices.
Many Icelanders complain about the fact that the Reykjavík old down-town shopping area has been vanishing due to the rental prices.

... True Detective and The Secret Life of Walter Mitty as vocals) but they have created the cutest gift shop in Iceland!! It’s the perfect place to find a gift with t-shirts for tweens, lamps for younger children ...

Had a cup of coffee with the owner who has a stunning wealth of knowledge and education about wool, patterns, history and all things knitting.
We walked from the city centre on a beautifully crisp, cold and sunny morning and easily found the shop.
