WOW!!! An amazing experience for the entire ten days of this fantastic Jazz Festival! Thank you so much to all the organisers of this festival in this beautiful City of Copenhagen!

Thank you in particular to The ‘Spirit Of New Orleans’ Preben Nissan (Band Leader) and your wonderful Jazz Band. You gave us so much pleasure (and hundreds of others) we had a very entertaining time watching you and listening to you and your very talented band!

We have come back to England with so many marvellous memories to treasure for ever!

We attended Distortion for the first time this year and had a great time.
Our group was 2 males 2 female aged between 20-25.

The festival is located over a different couple of locations in the city. The first two days were street parties in the day and then at night a stage and enclosed area was set up in a square in the center or the city, right next to Tivoli which is called Distortion Club.

First off, the people that attend this festival tend to be very mixed in age. At the bigger party on Refshaleøen the majority of people seemed to be 23+, at Distortion Club everyone seemed to be very young, I would estimate between 16-21 and at the street parties it was a mix of the two. We didn't camp and instead decided to stay in a hostel.

Distortion Club was very fun, although we thought it felt a little bit like lots of teenagers drinking for the first time and for that reason if I were to go again to Distortion I would probably skip this part.

The street parties were amazing, truly an experience to see streets and streets full of people. A tip, I would go early in the day, on one day we went half way through the party and found we couldn't catch up with how drunk people were to find the atmosphere fun- it was very hot, hardly any toilets and difficult to move from place to place with the volume of people. I would advise going to the street parties with a big group of people, and also bring your own alcohol! Much cheaper than what's on offer and also you won't have to queue- which were very very long.

My favourite part of the festival was the nights at Refshaleøen- which is a dockyard repair kinda place. This felt more like your traditional festival where you all go to an area for the event, rather than the other days where it was scattered inbetween parts of the city. There were a couple different stages here and lots of bars, toilets weren't too bad either, saw lots of people going in the bushes as there was a fair bit of grass/bush.
It felt a little bit like a fairytale party land away from humanity.

Overall I really enjoyed Distortion, there is a lot on offer at the festival and I think different parts appeal to different people. If you've never been before I would suggest seeing as much of it as you can and finding out which parts you do and don't enjoy. Copenhagen has so much on offer to do if you find you don't enjoy something!

A fast race track through the city. Cool, how many people come and watch and make a good mood! We will come back.
