Riding the funicular is a very interesting experience because you can actually see the way it is operated by the power of water
You can oay only in small change! I suggest walking back down.

One of the most interesting churches I have visited (and I've visited a lot!). The Baroque choir stalls and Romanesque rest of the interior create a beautiful and unusual contrast. Definitely worth paying the extra Euro for tour of the three chapels because that also takes you inside the choir loft (though be warned that one of the chapels does have a mummified corpse on display). The museum is beautifully presented with some interesting artefacts.

The beautiful Mountain View was from Hoko Sushi bar in Braga. We learnt from google that there is a sanctuary. What a beautiful surprise when we got there. The Sanctuary Of Our Lady Of Sameiro is beautiful. The views surrounding this sanctuary are gorgeous. Not to mention the sunset. We were lucky to have clear blue skies. The drive up is beautiful. The energetic ones can hike to the top. You can cycle to the place too. So if you are visiting the North enter this in your diary. Portugal is special. Surprises are never too far away and some need not be planned for.

Wow! This garden is so beautiful! It looks greatly taken care of, the flowers were in full bloom when I visited in March. It is a like some colorful oasis with historical elements and a pretty fountain, just incredible. It's also not big, so it is great for a quick walk.

Drove thru the scenic park, stopped to tour the imposing chapel and sanctuary; walked the picturesque grounds with fountains, flower beds, and the incredible staircase; and of course took a bevy of photos. It is clearly the highlight of our time in Braga.

This monastery was amazing! We were able to go into the church, the gardens, 3 stories of history that was all restored! Totally worth the 4 euros. We were there for 3 hrs. People were super nice!

This large main square of Braga sits at the end of the Rua de Souto, a pedestrianized street, and can't be missed. It has a huge fountain in the center, the lovely extensive gardens and green space of the Jardim de Central starts here as well as the tree lined Avenida Liberdade which is an offshoot of the square. Of note the tourist office is no more than 100 feet from the square and is a very helpful resource when planning your tour of Braga.

We had an excellent tour given by Miguel, who was superb. His knowledge of the club, stadium as well as Portuguese culture were only added to by his engaging, welcoming personality.

If Miguel sees this - thank you from the 6 English guys that visited on the morning of Saturday 16th, before the 2-1 win in the evening!

This large 17th century palace with later Baroque interior additions occupies a substantial site in the centre of Braga. As well as the main house, there are stables, large formal gardens and lovely statuary. The house itself is really well preserved with a wealth of original features and has lots of furniture on display although it is not set up as it would have been when it was occupied by nobility. The furniture is chiefly gifts from wealthy benefactors. It follows a set route finishing with a visit to the kitchen and stables before providing the opportunity to wander around the formal gardens.
Remarkable value at just €2 to enter. At present part of the gardens are sectioned off as refurbishment work is ongoing but there is still plenty to see.

Lovely exterior is supplemented by an interesting exhibition inside with lots of detail on the palace which was great value for money (it cost me 1 euro as I am a student).

This church is near the Braga letters so you will probably visit it without thinking of it. It's a short stop, the front of the church is very nice.

Nice looking portico with lots of cafes and shops nearby, would be perfect without the main road/roadworks being around it.
