Botanical gardens are always on my radar when I travel and this little one is a lovely green urban space! Great gardens and hothouses with tropical plants. There is also a shop and cafe on site and plants for sale. I lived my open sandwich and tea.

We could not get tickets for the museum - book this early to avoid this. However, the gardens to the rear are free to peruse. There is a nice hedged area with planting. Perhaps they could do more with tulips but it was early season. There are large containers with beautiful single colours in. A water feature caught a few people out as it squirted from the ground upwards turning on and off. Cold water up your trouser leg would wake you up! Nice green space to wander away from the traffic.

During my recent trip to Amsterdam, I stayed in CitizenM Amsterdam South, which is just across the road from Beatrixpark and within a short walking distance to the Amsterdam Zuid station. So naturally, walking through this 42 acres green oasis is a must. Named after Queen Beatrix (the former Dutch Queen), this English-style park was created in the 1930s, and has been the site of numerous events and festivals since then, including the garden and agricultural exhibition and music festivals. It may not be as highly-spoken of as compared to Amsterdam's other more illustrious parks such as Vondelpark, but it's still a lovely and romantic park to unwind in. You will easily find your own quiet spots for picnic and relaxation amidst the lush greenery, winding pathways, small pavilions and serene ponds and waterways. There's even a herb garden to explore and a paddling pool and playground with a sandpit for the kids.

We were staying nearby and really enjoyed walking to Park Frankendael. It is lovely and our 2 year old really enjoyed it. Great for family time.

Pleasant walking here, shopping center nearby, some interesting artworks to admire, such as the boy on a horse, a diamond and something resembling a Clix construction. Must be great to walk about in spring and summer. Fine visit.

You can view only the exterior of the house where a plaque layed in 1920 explains that Descartes lived in the building in 1634. Recommended only for philosophy diehards.

Sieger Park is a small public park in Sloten, Amsterdam West. It's really a green park, everywhere you see is green, even on the water. There are some artwork and It was completely silence in the park.

It's not a park, more a small complex of about 30 garden sheds and the one, number 22 has some bees boxes. It is the old "Bijenpark" because now there is a new one and it is at Baron Schimmelpenninck van der Oyeweg 4, 1067 HV Amsterdam. The location of the old bee park is not easy to find. The address Sloterweg 787 is belong to a transport company. You have to pass the sign "Forbidden Access" to get to the entrance of the bijenpark. At the front yard of Sloterweg 787, you will find a small red white submarine. The park is open from 1st May- 1st October from 11.00 am - 06.00 pm. It's not really an attraction for foreign tourists as it's far from the city centre and there is no bus to get there.

Cute little kid's garden, created by kids for any and all. Pretty flower beds in wooden crates, plants galore, restful and green. Good for a small test stop.
