Arielle has created a really special experience and I feel genuinely lucky to have been a part of it. It was by turns serene (her lovely home!), playful and silly (as my friend and I tried and often failed to sound erudite about smells), and transportive (as we immersed ourselves in the exercise of making our own perfume, under Arielle's patient tutelage).
I wouldn't have said that I was a huge "perfume person" prior to this workshop - heck, I was highly sceptical that my sense of smell was anything more than functional but it turns out, none of those things mattered. This was just the perfect way to spend a few hours on a Sunday, in the company of a close friend, learning, laughing, and creating.
PS: If you aren't entirely convinced by your own concoction, Arielle also has beautiful scents of her own that you can purchase for a nominal fee; I'm rather partial to the Gezellig!
