What travellers are saying
- Frog67Singapore43 contributionsSmall town that’s easy to walk around. The public bus within the town is free of charge with the Guest Pass which can be obtained from the hotel.
There’s a small Christmas Market. Can also view paragliders landing on the big field between 3pm & 4.30pm (winter time).
Interlaken (Inter-lake) connects the Thun Lake (Thun town) on the west and Brien Lake on the east. Thun town looks bigger than Interlaken and can be reached with the train (half hour ride) or bus. Christmas market is bigger there too. Brien Lake is where the iconic k-drama “Crashing Landing on You” was filmed.Written 19 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Use the Swiss half price pass to take advantage of a slight discount. There are bathrooms and some restaurants at the top. Many different hikes to choose from- we did #2 Panoramic Obergberhorn loop. Took us 3 hours with several long stops for pics. There are other family friendly trails as well. Glorious views of both lakes below and the surrounding alps, including the top of Europe Jungfraujoch. It's not a cheap experience but once in your life, something you must do if you enjoy nature & fantastic mountain views.Written 20 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Karim MaaroufCairo, Egypt956 contributionsThis is a very large open green area in the center of Interlaken. It's where the paragliders land. It's nice to spend some time watching them do so or also walk around the perimeter of the park.Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - pinchasgerberkarne shomron27 contributionsNo public transportation from Interlaken West so be prepared for a 30 minute walk...last 15 uphill.
The facility is beautiful. All products wonderfully displayed.
Wanted to try the unique red berry gin and the more classic one. Neither one really appealed to my taste.
Tried a few whiskies. Again, nothing really special. They charge 2 Swiss francs per taste, which would be almost fair if they would pour more than to just wet the bottom of the glass.
I decided to buy a whisky that I did not taste at the distillery...the 7 year aged Rock Label Swiss Wood Finished whisky. Its description was more in line with my refined taste.
After flying back home, I opened it and was rather disappointed. The nose was too soft and the taste was not as complex as 7 year old whisky should purport. What surprised me more was that there was no aftertaste.
For the money....just get the Two lake whisky. For the price, you get a nice beginner's whisky with more flavor than the much more expensive ones.Written 9 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Saurabh DhingraMilton Keynes, UK411 contributionsIt's great to see someone like Yash Chopra recognised as 'Ambassador of Interlaken'. You can have a photo with his statue, re-live DDLJ scenes like the flower prank done by Shahrukh in front of the fountain and others. Nice street having restaurants, cafes and shopping.Written 2 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - BrakiWorldTravelerBelgrade, Serbia20,003 contributionsInterlaken is rather a lodging base town to explore its surroundings, than a sightseeing destination. It has a nice setting between the Brienzer Lake and Thun Lake.
There're two Churches to visit at this site - the Reformist Church and Roman Catholic standing one by another.
Schlosskirche is actually the Reformist Church and is older than the Catholic one next door. It also has an adjacent monastery. We were lucky being there at the Sunday morning Mass.Written 8 April 2022This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Spent a very pleasant 2.5 hours chatting and sampling a number of different beers following a tour of the brewery. Andy was a great host and made us feel very welcome.
The beers we sampled were all excellent and very tasty. It was great to learn all about them too.
Would highly recommend a visit - whether it is raining or not! The beers are a very reasonable price (compared to so much else in Switzerland) and I am sure Andy (or his fellow brewer, Glynn) will make you feel very much at home.
My husband and I wish them both all the very best for the future. Well done guys.Written 4 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - CrimitoriiHawthorn, Australia457 contributionsNot much to add - old ruined castle, irregular steps etc. There is a hard way from above or a very easy way from the road just below the castle. We came from above, near the Credo Schloss hotel, but access from the road Unspunnenstrasse is much easier, as we found out after we'd climbed up to the ruins then down. There are iron hand-rails to keep you safe, though. Worth a look, especially if you haven't seen a ruined castle before - and there are lots of them in Europe.Written 3 October 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Aussie_2012Melbourne, Australia960 contributionsMost informative and educational even if you aren't the gardening buff. There are quite a few little trails winding around so it will take a while to see if all however we chose to meander around and still had an enjoyable time. Not best if it is a wet weather day but most definitely worth a visit.Written 9 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
