The art pieces were spectacular! Monica works in a very cozy and artistic environment and she’s very wellcoming and super talented. Definitely recommend to go if you’re in Venice!

Murano glass making looks to be a rough job. I commend the men who spend hours a day making this beautiful artwork of glass. I can only imagine the pain and frustration of becoming a master glass maker. The glass work making is a beautiful sight to see in person.

An exquisite palazzo with two very interesting exhibitions. The lovely courtyard, the incredible staircase and the lovely view of the Grand Canal are a real treat.

Having enjoyed Jan Morris' book--Ciao Carpaccio, I have become a fan of Vittore Carpaccio. This small collection is only a short 10 minute walk for the Doge's Palace and well worth it. There are two floors, the first of which hosts paintings a Carpaccio fan will be familiar with. It's not the best viewing experience, a dark somewhat crowded room, but it won't matter. Highly recommend.

I spent several days in Venice in November 2019. One specific souvenir that a family member asked for was a Venetian mask. Now you would think that would be an easy find IN VENICE! But frankly most of the masks I saw in shops around town were either low quality, poor craftsmanship or plastic junk made in China.

I was starting to get a little discouraged when I stumbled across Max’s shop. Tucked away in Campo San Marina it seems a world away from the crowded tourist areas and cheesy souvenir shops in other parts of town, but is actually only about a 5-10 minute walk from the Rialto Bridge. What a great find!

Inside his shop, Max was working away steadily, but stopped to show me around his studio and discuss his art. He has many hand-painted masks, but also paintings, sculptures and other art for sale. Needless to say, I found exactly what I was looking for and would highly recommend that you seek out Max Studio when you are in Venice.

I made a purchase while in Italy and regretted not buying a handmade Murano devil poker set. I contacted the store and made the purchase. The store kept me informed throughout the process and sent me a video of the set assembled. Shipping was fast and fantastic. Everything was packaged very well and arrived to my address in the US quickly. Great place to buy any handmade Murano Glass.

Visited as part of a tour, although close to our hotel we'd never have found it. To watch Piero work was a joy, he's a craftsman and artist.
We found an easier way back a couple of days later (just turn into the street from Strada nuovo by the gondola station) and bought a piece of his work, carefully packaged so it didn't get damaged in our case.
Lovely guy and a true artisan
