- Cici10 contributionsVery nice tour even in winter. We were lucky as it was sunny the whole day. We especially loved Lugano and wish that we could have spent more time there. We also would have preferred more quite time to enjoy the surroundings - the tour guide kept talking non-stop. She did provide good information but felt the need to repeat everything at least 5 times (no exaggeration). Don't stop to eat at the first restaurant as it is touristy and very expensive. Even though this was a long tour, the time flew by. The transportaion was comfortable and of course the views were amazing. I also really enjoyed the cruise on the lake. I would just note, this trip is the transport and the lake tour, there is a fair bit of ‘exploring time’ to explore the towns you go to. - Ross G6 contributionsAMAZING! Definitely recommend it if you are staying in Milan! Despite some other reviews, we found the process to be smooth, comfortable and exactly as listed.
Our tour guide 'Mauro' was very informative and kept us in the loop throughout the whole trip, he was bilingual and catered to us English and Spanish speakers perfectly.
The bus ride was around 2 and a half hours from Milan to St Moritz as well as on the way back from Tirano to Milan. Despite the long rides, they ensured we had coffee/toilet breaks in between to ensure we were all comfortable.
We had around 2 hours to explore the beautiful St Moritz, where Mauro told us the best restaurants and photo locations. After exploring the beautiful town, we got on the Bernina Express train which was UNREAL. The second-class tickets allow you to open the windows which allowed us to take amazing photos and truly appreciate the views of Switzerland. There are no cafes/shops on the 2 and a half hour train ride so just ensure you purchase drinks and/or food in St Moritz before you leave!

Make sure to be on time! The tour leaves on time so that you will have time at all the stops. We traveled by bus to St. Moritz with time to walk around and sample chocolate. On board the Bernina Red Train we traveled through the Swiss Alps and took tons of pictures. The day ends with a stop in Tirano, Italy. Wear your walking shoes because you will need them at all the stops. It was a long day, but well worth it. - MartsCrowborough, UK24 contributionsWe met Paola in the Central Station, directions to find her were very clear. She was very welcoming and friendly. Throughout the whole trip she was very knowledgeable and really made the experience for us. The trip was amazing, very punctual, very informative and we had plenty of time for photos and scheduled toilet stops were perfect too!
The stop at Lake Como was brilliant, such a beautiful place, but it needs to be visited for longer to appreciate it all.
The Bernina train itself was absolutely fantastic, Paola told us when every view of interest was coming and which way to look for it, and she took some lovely photos of us too. We were very lucky with the weather, not a cloud in the sky and snow up at the top too made it perfect.
