The Colosseum is absolutely awe-inspiring! Its grandeur and history come to life as you explore this ancient amphitheater. The structure is remarkably preserved, and the views from the upper levels are stunning. I highly recommend booking skip-the-line tickets to avoid long waits and taking a guided tour to fully appreciate its significance.

Lovely , historic & busy site. The only reason this ancient site wasn’t destroyed with time was that it was turned in a Christian church centuries ago.
Go the Rome municipal website for buying tickets for this , (if you have local data on your mobile. ). This can be done on day or hour of your visit.
Then you can buy tickets that day so there’s no wait of any kind. 🙂

The Fontana di Trevi is absolutely breathtaking! Its intricate Baroque design, with mythological figures and cascading water, is mesmerizing. Tossing a coin into the fountain is a fun tradition, said to ensure a return to Rome. While it gets crowded, visiting early or late offers a quieter experience, and the fountain is beautifully lit at night. A must-see landmark that captures the essence of Rome's charm and history!

The streets of Trastevere are nice and friendly. There are many restaurants and cafes around. In the evenings there are street artists in the square and people dance. It is a place where you can hang out in the evening.

I believe this church is a must see in Rome. It has a rich and interesting history, as well as having a variety of stunning architectural details. It’s also free which is a nice bonus

How absolutely lovely. Much smaller in person right at the center of a large park in the center of Rome. Serene and beautiful. We did not use the little boats but they are available for people to paddle around in at a small cost. Definitely worth seeing, great for photos.

You can visit the Palatine Hill at the same time as the Roman Forum. The hill is punishing to climb in the heat but the views over the ancient Roman forum are worth it

Luckily it was just a few meters from our hotel and I was able to enjoy this show every evening. Castle of the highest historical and scenic level. I absolutely recommend visiting

Rome is dripping in historical delights but the Roman Forum stands head and shoulders above the rest. There is a lot to see here and much to explore. There are plenty of signs to tell visitors what you’re looking at so I don’t think a guided tour is necessary. Walking down the ancient Roman road through the heart of the forum is a pretty surreal experience

Most of the monument is free to visit, but you do have to pay to visit the panoramic terrace. This is quite expensive, €17, but I do think it’s worth it. You can see in every direction, even across to the mountains in the distance. There’s also great views over the Colosseum and Roman Forum

Most people visit the church to take pictures of the ceiling through the magnifying mirror but there is more to this church than most people bother to look. There are lots of details and chapels to admire

It looked as wonderful as expected

However, the huge crowds make it difficult to enjoy the lovely symmetry of the steps as they rise to the Church

The church is the oldest and highest ranking of the four major papal basilicas of Rome. It has a long history of making and remaking. The façade as it appears today was completed in the 18th century. The octagonal Lateran baptistery stands somewhat apart from the Arch basilica, hardly 140 metres away. A must visit.
