- Ilona KNijmegen, The Netherlands15 contributionsMe and my partner wantend to do a dive this year and the only trip we do this year was a city trip to Rome. I contacted Big Blue Divers trough their Facebook page. Te day after I already had an answer and within a day we arranged two dives with hired equipment and a drive from our hotel to the harbour. A day before our dive our dive guide Contanza contacted us that due to holiday events in Rome she wasn’t able to pick us up. But she gave us a metro station to come to. Very easy to find and on the 2nd of June we found her and drove to the dive site. The people where all really friendly. The equipment she brought was good and complete. Everything was there. The boat master Enrico, was a super guide. Showed us a lot lobster and Murene. The water was cold but that didn’t make the dive any less awesome. Thank you for the pleasant and good dive experience!!Written 8 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Janek P2 contributionsI'm in Rome for a few months so wanted to dive at the weekends.
I called a few clubs but Alessandro and Valentina responded to my call immediately. In fact some of the other clubs still to this day have not called me back or responded.
I'm a PADI MSD and have not been in the water due to work commitments for two years. They offered me a course in the pool as a refresher which was great to hone my skills and get back up too speed.
They then offered the boat trips which they do at the weekends. And to be honest are very well priced and includes food.
I decided on the Saturday trip from Porto Ercole. The trip was great. From the minute I arrived until I stepped off the boat I felt at home and in a friendly and relaxed atmosphere. The dive briefings are in Italian as you'd expect but Alexander gave me mine in English.
The dive. Food. Company and kit which by the way was very good was all top notch.
There was food provided which came as a surprise IE the amount and at the end there were drinks as well.
The overall experience was one I would highly recommend and the Italians were warm and friendly throughout.
Great experience and a great club.
Thank you Alessandro and Valentina.Written 17 June 2018This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We contacted a few dive shops around the area and Stefano was the most responsive. We appreciate his excellent communication with us including his effort, attention to detail, and his timely response.
We planned to visit Giannutri Island but only if sea conditions were calm. On the day of the dive, it was very windy and the sea was rough. Since we were on a small boat with a few folks, we took the safe option of diving in Porto Ercole which was already beautiful on its own. We were quite pleased with the amount of sea life and good visibility compared to what we are used to here in California. We had an excellent experience with Stefano as our dive guide. He was very professional, friendly, patient, helpful, and efficient--all of which helped to provide us with a relaxed yet fun and amazing dive experience! We highly recommend L'aquila di Mare.Written 5 November 2016This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. They are nice and educated by email before the booking, they do not explain at all what are the pros and cons of each service or boat they are offering. We arrived after a long trip to the marina in Capo D'orlando in sicily the Marina is great with a supermarket and restaurant.
the check-in went smoothly but no checking with us inside the boat, I think it was too hot.
we booked the hostess with a very clear email saying for the cleaning, but they never explained the hostess-only cooks and cleans the kitchen area we were so lucky to have Julia a true gem who made our trip memorable along with the skipper, but when we ask her when she will be doing the bed she replied I'm not cleaning the cabin... why Barcando have not informed us when we have an email asking clearly the same?
Nevermind this is a small issue and we carried on with our trip, we boarded the boat and started navigating, at some point we decided to make the beds, and we looked at each other horrified with a disgusting yellow mark on the cheap cushions, we lifted the mattress and there were dead bugs and other crumbs under the mattress, we immediately emailed them and their answer was: Buy a new one will refund you.... in the middle of the eolie island while I'm on holiday I have to look for new cushions... more shocking email later we kept the disgusting cushion and so we slept without the entire week...
the Hostess was not able to sleep in here bed as it was soaked wet the entire week.
The bathroom OMG full of mould broken and smelly
In the common area, the ceiling fell off by 2 cm of one of our children but again for them that could happen...
I have tried to talk to them to make them understand the responsibility and accountability in this they cannot just charge the client and not deliver the service we are paying for.
They offered 500 euros on the next booking which I rejected as it was really insulting, I requested them at this point to just pay cash they refused.
Please DO NOT BOOK your holiday with them, they can be ruined by incidents like that and it is better to choose another company check better and shop around learn from our mistakes, happy to answer any questions!Written 29 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
