- Connector482058819184 contributionsOrchestra and soloists were excellent. A really beautiful evening. We " dressed up" and felt very sophisticated. The event was a great value for the cost. The evening is held in an impressive church in a very nice part of Rome; ple ty of restaurants close by. We were clueless about this series until we walked by the church a couple of times and saw a placard advertising the night's performance. We attended 2 outstanding performances in a spectacular church setting. His voice, his acting ability, the expression of great emotion.....I have never heard a better tenor. As an audience member you become really captivated by this tenor's gift, he absolutely transports you into another world. The acoustics in the church are perfect. The song selection is interesting and captivating. Lead soprano took a few minutes to get into her stride but was good when there. Alfredo on the other hand was poor, several times failing to make the note and flat at least twice. Acoustics in the church variable when singers were not facing front. Small orchestra variable, the piano was a bit intrusive
Seats in the church uncomfortable and the view of the singers almost non existent if not on the aisle. So not a recommended option. This is Oper Lirica..soprano a tenor and 4 string quartet performing well known music and arias from several well known operas… a throughly enjoyable evening which brought tears to my eyes… comfortable small theatre venue serving drinks before the performance… highly recommend.
