- Trip367110756052 contributionsWe came from New Orleans to go on a cruise and arrived a couple days early to enjoy Rome. We happened upon the Basement. It turned out to be a really fun, casual place and the employees were all great! They have a patio outside and employees came out there to take out drink order. The place ended getting pretty crowded and it was a happening place! - Daniel B10 contributionsCool place for cocktails! We celebrated my girlfriend's 50th by heading to the coolest place in the city. Escaping the 36 degree heat for half an hour! The camera wasn't so keen on the 40 degree swing in temperature when we returned outside so definitely remove the lens cap for a minute after! huge selection of cocktails and all mixed in front of you. They are also extremely reasonably priced and even the merchandise isn't extortionate! Highly recommend for the novelty factor. The thermal capes are excellent and I would recommend the gloves if you are planning on staying more than about 30-40 mins. That was plenty of time for a couple of cocktails each. - Whitney R1 contributionMy friends and I joined the pub crawl as a last minute decision for our Friday night in Rome. We had a blast! We met so many people, from all over, various ages! It was such a fun way to see the city at night and to enjoy time with people from around the world. Elisa, one of the hosts, made us feel so welcomed! Famous for their home-made pate, a rich choice of cold cuts like meat and cheese and an enormous wine choice.
Just a home made lasagna this time with a sip of white Verdicchio Castelli di Jesi Classico Superiore from Marche area.

I asked them to put the MLB playoffs on during a time when there was a soccer tournament. Obviously soccer is more popular in Europe. They put baseball on for me. Have a Burger, they are delicious. The average patronage was between 15-20 people, just enough for an atmosphere while allowing a master cocktail maker time to deliver perfection. - Elvira S1 contributionBeen here many Times and I always enjoy. You van have fantastic drinks in a nice atmosphere, both outside and inside, meet friendly people especially writers! It is definetly a special piace with good vibes!!

No matter what or how long we come to Roma, we come here multiple times through our trip. For ordinary people who doesn't have to be a wine connoisseur when they arrive, but might feel enhanced and uplifted when they leave, if they ever do. Friendly, very affordable and plenty of wine you never heard of, that will become your new favourite.
