What travellers are saying
- Cosmina Lavinia111 contributionsMy boyfriend and I spent a lovely afternoon at Retiro Park, and it was the perfect escape from the city’s hustle and bustle. This spacious park offers a sense of safety, with plenty of police presence ensuring a peaceful environment.
We enjoyed the tranquility of the park, which is beautifully quiet, allowing us to relax and unwind. I absolutely love the culture of people enjoying the park, engaging in various activities—from painting and reading to simply napping in the sun.
The park is equipped with water fountains, making it easy to stay refreshed while exploring. If you’re in Madrid, I highly recommend spending some time in Retiro Park; it’s a true gem!Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We spent 3 hours at Prado and saw perhaps 5% of what they have to offer. We sincerely hope to be back to Madrid some day, and Prado will be on the list, again!Written 11 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - trainbackLondon, UK364 contributionsDefinitely one of the top places to visit when in Madrid. We didn't buy a guided tour and the audio guide was good. We were overtaken several times by guided tour groups who appeared to be rushing through the experience and missed out on the time we were able to spend in each of the opulent rooms in the palace. Maybe allow 2-3 hours.Written 11 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Haralambos VasileasThessaloniki, Greece9 contributionsThe Santiago Bernabeu Stadium tour was incredible! As a football fan, visiting this iconic stadium was a dream come true. The self-guided tour was well-organized, allowing us to explore the locker rooms, trophy room, and even the pitch itself. The interactive displays and behind-the-scenes areas made it feel like we were part of the team. The views from the stands were breathtaking, and the museum is full of rich history. Highly recommended for any football lover—worth every minute!Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kathy S6 contributionsCrowded but fun. Many diverse food options. Empanadas were great. Hot spot, hard to find seats but food was good. If had been closer to hotel we would have gone againWritten 15 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally K54 contributionsMadrid is beautiful & clean but Gran Via takes it to another whole new level..! Firstly the buildings and architecture are stunning! You'll want to take pictures of every building ( I hope your phones can handle all that picture taking..) because every building is unique and beautiful! They are very well maintained, spacious walkways with many people/ tourists and nice sounvenir shops. Many shops and restaurants too..! One word.., "Amazing!"Written 5 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- swiftmiKnoxville, TN1,416 contributionsWe dropped in here on a Saturday. There were large crowds and a few street entertainers. The square is surrounded by restaurants but we didn’t try any of them. It has a nice feel and watching people was fun.Written 10 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - oenogal1Vancouver, Canada179 contributionsFabulous museum. Small enough to enjoy within an hour. Beautiful artwork by Joachim Sorolla. Entrance staggered so never too busy inside. Avoid lineups but booking on line. Three euros for entrance and seniors are free. Nice museum shop. Apparently it is temporarily closed October 1 for extensive renovations.Written 2 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - brucekleinPortland, OR99 contributionsThis museum is the perfect size for a one day visit. Not too big and not too small. Astounding permanent exhibits and fascinating temporary exhibits. Only a 5 minute walk to the other two major museums in Madrid. Don’t miss it!Written 5 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Sally62Northampton, UK6,069 contributionsAbout a 15 minute walk from the Royal Palace, this is worth visiting. Only 10 people are allowed within the temple building at any time and you book your free place using a QR code on a noticeboard next to the entrance. There were about 20 people waiting when we arrived but we were happy just to walk around it. The pond surrounding the temple is currently empty so if you are planning to go there for photos of a sunset reflection then you'll be disappointed.Written 20 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Richard BYelverton, UK7 contributionsThis is an outstanding museum, far better than guides would suggest. It is well laid out, the staff are helpful and the spaces fresh and open. The early periods are the best of any I have visited, the great wealth of Spanish discoveries well deployed. The sense of a journey through time with geographical links across Europe and the Mediterranean and beyond was well done. Lovely humour in some of the displays. A top notch museum on the world stage. Thank you.Written 10 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sally62Northampton, UK6,069 contributionsAn iconic landmark in Madrid, this intersection is surrounded by attractive buildings and has a huge fountain in the centre. Fantastic in the day but it is magnificent when illuminated at night. The former Communications building is now the Town Hall and on the opposite corner is the Banco de Espana. A meeting point for all major celebrations in Madrid when the roads are closed.Written 20 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
