The museum is located on the outskirt of Madrid, near an Air base. You can get there by public transport..but a car makes it much more comfortable. It is an open space and the wind is strong, have something to keep you warm.
The entrence fee is realy afordable but THEY DONT TAKE CARDS so cash is a must.
The space is wast, 6 hangars + an outside area..The planes range from the beginings to the present. A lot of realy interrsting planes can be seen, sadly some are further away from the pavements(they tell you to not walk on the grass). An engine exhibition is also in one of the hangars..realy interesting.
The descriptions are in well layed out, and the staff is realy friendly. All in all one of the better military themed museums i have visited. If you are into aviation/war stuf..i highly reccomend a visit.

Fascinating collection! Amazed at the beautiful detail and artistry of these pieces of armour created hundreds of years ago.

    Excellent experience
We had an excellent visit to the museum, it started with us arriving too early for our scheduled time, 2 hours early.
Fortunately the guards at the gate took pity on us and allowed us to join the early group.
The museum is well organized with some vehicles outside, some under cover and several buildings with displays of various weapons, uniforms and equipment.
The tour is done in Spanish and you must pre register in order to gain entry as the museum is part of an active army base.
The guides are very friendly and informative and you can learn a lot about the history of the vehicles and the Spanish army. I highly recommend this tour if you have an interest in military vehicles, and the Spanish army in particular, they have operated vehicles from France, U. S. Germany, and many they have built themselves, there are also several tanks from the Spanish Civil War if that period of history interests you.

A really high quality museum that tells the story of Spanish aviation from its conception to the present day. There are a number of unique airframes here and they've been very well preserved, including the de Havilland Dragon Rapide that ferried General Franco to Spain to begin his coup d'état. The museum is roughly half outdoors and half indoors, thankfully the Madrid weather gives you good odds of a dry day.

Almost all exhibits are in Spanish and English and the staff are very helpful. The gift shop is one of the best I've seen in an aviation museum, and I've been to a lot! I'd recommend 2-3 hours minimum for a visit, we spent about 3 hours and I personally felt a bit rushed (not so sure about my wife).

Given that this is run by the Spanish Air Force, entry is free so some appreciation is due to the Spanish taxpayer for funding such a great museum. The only downside is that Cuatro Vientos isn't the easiest museum to reach via public transport. The only option is a bus which drops you a ~10 min walk away from the place. You will need to plan ahead if you're not driving.

All in all, Spain's premier air museum and a must-visit for aviation fans visiting Madrid and the surrounding area.

Beautiful museum of miniatures and dioramas. The pieces here are very impressive and you can find all kinds of miniatures: military, fantasy, movies, etc... The dioramas are amazing, they have an incredible and huge one of a WWII german submarine which even has lights. There's also a collection of historical bronzes by the artist Fernando Andrea. It has a store where you can buy miniatures, books, sculptures and they also offer custom services, they can create any diorama, portrait, miniature or sculpture for you. If you are looking to do something original and special while visiting Madrid, this is absolutely the place
