Cultural space with free exhibitions in a former sawmill in the centre of Madrid. Worth a visit if only for the interesting building.

After having seen Alegria in 2006, in Quebec in 2011 a street performance, Ovo in Berlin in November 2017, and after having attended Totem on 27.12.2017 with my family and having paid 416 eur for 7 tickets, we came out of the performance with feeling of having been deceived. Several simple performances, fails in some of them. Lack of visibility (this is not acceptable, especially because of not being adviced in the internet purchasing website; at least 2 columns were in the sight line). One of the performance did not take place. We have seen in internet after the show that this happened in other shows previously. My impression was that the venue was lacking the infrastructure sufficient for the usual level of stunts of cirque du soleil. Indeed that high level was not reached. My impression is that from the very beginning was the intention of Cirque du Soleil, offering a low quality show but at the normal price, taking advantage of the name of Cirque du Soleil brand represents (not anymore of course). This is the reason why we feel ourselves totally deceived (fraud). I do really hope that Cirque du soleil does not really believe that the level of perception of Spanish people is lower than in other countries (i.e Germany). We were highly impressed with previous shows like the last one we just saw in Berlin (Ovo). I don´t believe Cirque du Soleil would be presenting such show in Berlin at the same prices paid by the Spanish people. At the end is a matter of expectation, reason why somebody is willing to pay for something. For this reason we kindly ask Cirque Du Soleil for the refund of the purchase value paid.

Very nice and impressive building. There is maker space (fablab) with a lot of 3D printers and other machinery. Unfortunately the access is limited and the stuff was not very friendly. As far as I understood the place and the events in it are funded by the city council and government. As a result I didn't see a real community and there were not much of a real work happening when I visited the place.
