Fantastic shop…friendly and knowledgeable owner who was low pressure and let me wander around. He did an excellent job packing my purchases so I could fly them home.

Many shops and variety of purchases. Good prices (depending of brands).
Also variety in food and beverages, but with medium quality.

The ham is excellent. If you order anything else besides just "ham on a plate" then be prepared for disappointment.

Conclusion: just order a lot of ham.

I'm not of big fan of the taste of their sweets, but the shop itself is very welcoming; the staff are super friendly, and they are very generous with their free samples.

This friendly market is set up only for the holidays (until January 5) in a building with a lot of charm: Centro Cultural de Ejércitos in the heart of our beautiful city. It is a craft fair whose hours are very wide (from 11AM to 9PM), you can find everything from jewelery & attire to decoration for home, the beautiful building has a bar and an elevator for those with reduced mobility: do not miss going to the first floor!
Since it is a fair, the prices oscillate...after all are handmade things: unique.

Casa Hernanz is one of the oldest espadrilles ( jute sandals/footwear ) makers in Madrid. Read some blogs that raved about it and as a fan of all things local while travelling , it was on my" to visit " list. As in the blogs, there was a long queue on Saturday afternoon ( closes at 2 pm) and we couldn't get an opportunity to go inside, so had to squeeze in early morning trip on Monday ( Sundays they are closed). Whoa I was first in the queue and waited for shop to open. Interestingly as soon as I entered, the store assistant asked for my size and preferred design.Learning : All their designs are in the show window, so pick your choices from there, while waiting in the queue. The shop is small and space for only 4-5 customers at a time. So if you are stuck with someone finicky ahead of you, it will surely be a long wait. Good stuff at reasonable price and I am enjoying wearing them. Daily wear sandals were below Eur 15. Though you will find espadrilles at many branded stores all over Madrid., this is a must visit for local experience and value for money shopping.

I saw this shop on television so really wanted to visit. Oozes history and so affordable to pick up little boxes as gifts for friends. Staff very friendly. A tiny shop with a lovely window display and very historic.

The Museo de Jamon is a crazy place specializing in Iberian cured ham. The clientele is eclectic to say the least, but the food and drinks are excellent. We were pleasantly surprised at the generous amount of chorizo and chips given to us along with a couple of beers. The place is hanging with different types of Iberian ham. You may want to take a picture of all the hams... quite an impressive sight!

There has yet to be a visit to Madrid (and I thankfully have made many) when I haven't stopped at Real Fabrica for gifts - for family and friends as well as for myself. A gorgeous selection of goods all made in Spain and well priced - something for everyone's pocketbook - and it's situated in Barrio de Las Letras, my favorite neighborhood. Enjoy the cobbled streets and cafes along the way. It's a feast for the eyes!

The best food is around this Sunday market. Also, the market itself could have some interesting goods for both tourists and locals

The setting of this flea market in the old train museum is gorgeous and one of a kind. It’s on every 2nd weekend of the month. There is an array of artisans trading from art works to ceramics, from contemporary unique decorative items to antique pieces. Fashion and accessories, used and new alike. I bought a used but good quality bikers leather jacket for only €40. Old LP records.to children products are also present. Lots of artisanal food too. The choice is varied but not overwhelming. There was a DJ playing tasteful upbeat music in the background and children area too. At the back of the indoor museum are food trucks offering mouth watering food.with table and chairs to satisfy even those discerning mouth. I love love love this place. We are so glad we were able to see this place on our visit to Madrid. It’s really like a treasure chest there. A little pricey but well worth the price. I highly recommend a visit to this place while in Madid. It’s beside the Metro Delicias.
