What travellers are saying
- don_hoylerRochester, NY38 contributionsWe decided to visit the Barcelona History Museum in order to see the Roman ruins, and we are very happy we did. The extensive excavation and informative displays provided a much more detailed view than we expected. You don't have to be in love with history to enjoy the visit.Written 2 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Martin ŠtyksPrague, Czech Republic16 contributionsModern museum with lots of interactive installations explaining life in Catalonia. Entrance fee is 8€ and you can visit for free on the first sunday of each month.Written 23 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - N..5 contributionsVery nice view. Went by accident, planned to see Parc Guell and this was a close bus stop. Very difficult to find anything without mobile internet:). In the end found Parc Guell. Come early because police won't let people to stay laterWritten 27 January 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RewRugby, UK436 contributionsA nice but small museum. For 12 euro its about what you'd expect to pay, but in truth you'll only need an hour in here. The king tut exhibit has no English translations. I didn't see any toilets.Written 20 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SnodesLondon, UK171 contributionsReally good museum, the current Imperium exhibition is excellent with v good use of digital effects over ancient exhibits. For some reason Barcelona doesn’t seem to want anyone to find this place - it doesn’t come up on searches and a lot of the info is in Catalan. Well worth a visit - just hop on the funicular from Paral-lel metro and it’s a nice walk back down the hill thru the gardens.Written 23 May 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland68,269 contributionsAvant-garde comics by young women was one of the temporary exhibitions underway. Nine authors feature, including Roberta Vázquez, Bàrbara Alca and Nadia Hafid.
They deal through the medium of comics with subjects and themes particularly affecting young people such as economic uncertainty and their relationship with technology.
All in an impressive building, part of which constitutes a mighty former alms house.Written 9 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - GringombianoDouglasville, GA126 contributionsThis was located very close to our hotel, so we stopped in to check it out. Although there is certainly an impressive array of perfumes and cosmetics inside, they are all things that are for sale...more like a store than a museum.Written 22 June 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - permiaIreland68,269 contributionsWhen passing were delighted to see there was a free concert at 6pm. Returned for it, in a fabulous Gothic building.
It was constructed in the 16th century by Bartomeu Roig for the Tertiary Sisters of the Dominicans and is a fabulous legacy to be still extant, and in use.
A string quartet performed a number of compositions, modern and atonal in form. While by no means a favourite music, it was atmospheric in the grand vaulted space.Written 3 April 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
