Chef Kako was excellent! Our trip to the market included his guidance and explanation of what is going into our paella and why those choices were made as well as a little history on the dish. He taught us how to make good sangria, too.
This was a great class that both my husband and I enjoyed. The class size was perfect, the food was incredible, and we loved getting a tour of La Boqueria. Although not one of the cheaper class options, it was definitely valued correctly and worth the cost. We can’t wait to come home and make everything we learned.
Maria was FANTASTIC!!!! She was so knowledgable and made the class so much fun. She took us through the biggest market here in Barcelona and was completely unbothered by the crowds. She was prepared with headsets so we could hear her through the crowds. She had connections at the market and we tasted several Spain-musts! I cannot say enough about this experience. Wish I could give her 10 stars.
Awesome experience. Claudia was a great chef, leading us through the recipes. Quick, busy your of the market with lots of information, then the rest of the food tour at their place and the rest of the time was spent cooking, eating, and enjoying wine. Would definitely recommend. Great views over plaça reial as well.
Great experience! Our host was charming, the food was great and the sangria hit the spot on a very sunny day. Its a cut above the run of the mill touristy paella cooking class and the location (well away from the boqueria market) reflects that. The way they did Creme Catalan was a nice touch. Highly recommended!
Atmosphere and locale was fun. Chefs were great - enthusiastic, friendly, helpful. Cooking tips were good and the wine kept flowing! Got to taste 4 types of paella cooked by us and the other attendees. Highly recommended!
Juan was an amazing instructor. We learned so much with all of the hands on experience. We made apps, paella and dessert and drank lots of Cava throughout. It was super fun and the food was delicious. We've re-created some of the recipes back at home in NYC this summer!
This was one of the highlights of my trip to Barcelona. Chef Renata took our group to the market —a wonderland of food—to taste and shop for ingredients, and then we got to work making an absolutely delicious meal together. Renata explained not only the techniques, but the significance of food as part of history and culture. I learned so much, met great people and enjoyed a wonderful “homemade” meal of Catalan classics. Highly recommend!
What a great evening! Alex and his team were great fun. It was the surprise highlight of a two week cruise. Would definitely do it again and highly recommend.
4 full hours of chopping and cooking and learning, without the typical market trip, which we could do on our own (and is a time waster for us). Host is very thorough and traditional foods were outstanding.
The experience was fantastic. The venue was set for our group to participate in meal prep and had a variety of menu items to prepare. We thoroughly enjoyed the event, from the quality of the ingredients and the insights on the history and process. I would highly recommend this to anyone who wants a fun, authentic and relaxing experience.
