A beach that strolls for 7 kilometres alongside Las Palmas with lot’s of restaurants on the way, beach benches and umbrellas at great prices is one of the best beaches we have encountered. Play del Inglese and Maspolamos what!

Vegueta is a place to stay if you don’t want to be lumped in with Sun-seeking Brits. It is a warm & charming town away from typical beach expectations. We stayed in Veintiuno hotel which was boutique & fabulous & ate in many local authentic & speciality restaurants, Indio Commido & Chiwawa to name but 2, so many bars to grab a pre-dinner glass of wine, El Monje de Santa Anna in the cathedral square was a favourite. We have used the bus service (number 12) to get to the port, amazing indoor market (we were here in carnival week so great vibe!) Also the aquarium is absolutely brilliant. I did not know what to expect when booking this holiday & have been pleasantly surprised every day!

An interesting exhibition telling you about the voyages of Christopher Columbus. There is also some replicas of ancient world maps which I found fascinating. As others have said not everything is in English, but Google Translate camera sorts that out quickly now.

It was amazing! I definitely recommend it, free entrance! The staff was really nice, and overall 9/10 score! I made around 150 photos, and narrowed it down to 47.

This is the main shopping street in the old town area of Las Palmas de Gran Canaria. It is a nice street, with old, colorful buildings and lots of shops and restaurants. You can find lots pf perfume shops here an if you're lucky and like to negociate, you buy buy perfumes at lower prices.

Great viewpoint for the whole Gran Canaria but it is sometimes covered in clouds. Can even see Teide volcano on Tenerife! Very small parking next tot the viewpoint but this place is also accessible by foot.

A good experience with lots to see. From the outside, the cathedral is very impressive to look at. Inside, it's spectacular! There are many stained-glass windows and paintings to see. Don't forget to look up - the ceilings of cathedrals are always interesting architecture.

Be warned - one of the side areas has a glass tank with a body in it. We couldn't work out from the translation into English if it's an actual skeleton, something embalmed and restored or something else entirely. Put a bit of a dampener on the visit as was very unsettling.

However, tower visor alone is worth the €6 entry price for the whole lot - fab views of the entire town... Or is it a city? Either way, worth going up. They have a lift with step-free access to the roof and then there's 45 steps to get up to the tower for slightly better views.

Loos are clean but weirdly have flies immediately outside. Museum interesting IF you have an interest in religious artifacts, paintings of donations for the church.

    Would recommend popping in!

Air conditioned, clean, modern shopping mall. Good range of shops including Primark, Lefties with Carrefour as the anchor.
Plenty of places to sit for the non-shoppers including comfy armchairs. Spotted charging stations. Toilets were clean but they are kind of hidden.
Good range of restaurants in the top floor with wonderful views of La Cantera beach. For simple tastes ( like mine), I grabbed a bocadillo( 4 euro) from Carrefour to join the family on this level.

We went by the park on our way from the cruise port to the Vegueta. It was a cloudy day so the park wasn’t very crowded and it was quite nice and well maintained.

A lovely island though if you are going for winter sunshine you'd be disappointed. We stayed in Las Palmas which is a very nice city, great walks, restaurants and bars and made a few journeys by bus €6.25 each way per person to playa del Ingles where the weather is slightly better at this time of year than the capital. If you haven't been to the island definitely worth a visit

Walked to this place on a Friday Evening for a bite to eat.
Wow what a Busy place, loads of restaurants to choose from, but far to Busy for us, so we reluctantly moved on.
Highly recommended though if you can cope with a lot of peeps.
