- curlywurly123Derbyshire, UK238 contributionsArrived onboard Iona yesterday & saw the bus parked in port. We hadn’t enjoyed the trip in Las Palmas but as we had pre purchased tickets from P&O we decided to use them.
All staff were nice & knowledgeable and we boarded at stop no1.
When you arrive by ship, you never know which direction to walk in.
But we sat on the bus for the whole hour & listened to a good quality interesting commentary all about Cadiz. Overall much better than the last experience.
Afterwards we got off & wandered through all the narrow streets. He was knowledgeable, friendly and went out of his way to make sure we were seeing and experiencing Cadiz despite the rainy conditions. - tripreport12northern California6 contributionsBefore our tour, we told our Cádiz guide Aurelio (Aure) that our top priority was history of different periods in Cádiz, including Phoenician, Roman, Moorish, Christian, etc. We could not have asked for a better guide. He had great knowledge of each phase of history, and the ability to communicate very well. He was also very willing to answer all of our questions. The day was rainy, cold, and windy, and it is hard to imagine that anyone else could have kept our attention for so long. He is also very pleasant to be around. I can say without reservation that our tapas/sherry tour in Jerez with Rosalba was one of the best I have experienced! Her enthusiasm for the history of Jerez and the Cádiz region is palpable and she was very engaging and did a great job In giving us historical context. Rose was very knowledgeable about the sherries and how the different types are best paired with different tapas. A fantastic and delicious experience! Horse show is a must to understand the history of dancing horse in Spain than Austria and now in show like Cavalia. Dressing horse is a real communication art.

Roberto was an excellent host, providing a bottle of Cava and some food for us, and even a blanket for when it got colder. He was very discreet as well, letting us know that we could call him if we needed anything but could otherwise just relax and enjoy eachothers company uninterrupted. He even called us a taxi to get back to our hotel which was very sweet. It was a really beautiful way to spend the final evening of our holiday!
