When the tide is low, it seems as you can cross the entirety of the waterway, which will become a “sea” in a span of 6 hours, complete with lifeguards on duty and people swimming around. It is a beautiful structure with several nice details, and the bridge is still in daily use. Road traffic is only one way at the time and is controlled by traffic light.
