Superb architecture mixes the old with the new.
A very clever and innovative design by Norman Foster is a masterpiece of what can be done to a building.
Certainly well worth a visit if in Berlin.
Do not forget to take your passport asa government building.

Brandenburg Gate is a hub of activity and tourist central; gate has significant place in the history of berlin and Germany making it a must-see place.

Great to see at night and day with the contrast, also late at night you get nice photos with gate lit up and only a handful of tourists.

close by parks and restaurant's so lots of other things to do.

Masses of information and possibly the best section of wall in its original state. Firstly, there is the outdoor area where you can see the extent of the wall and the zone beyond and includes a memorial wall of photos of those who died there. Next, is the visitor centre where you can watch a film about the creation of the wall, alternately in English and German. Finally, is the Documentation Centre with more information and a chance to view from above of a completely preserved section complete with guard tower.

    We all really enjoyed Berlin.
Lots of lovely scenery would recommend the Hop On Hop Off Bus. Also did a River Trip which was very relaxing and lots to see as we went along.
Stayed in an Apartment which was good. All booked before we left.

My husband and I were mentally tapped out on history activities. We ended up at the zoo and it ended up being one of my fav memories in Berlin! The zoo is set up in a way that truly immerses you into each exhibit. We felt so close to the animals. The zoos back home (USA) are not set up like this. All of the animals were well taken care of. Do not skip the petting area 🙌🏼

Big open green space next to Brandenburg Gate, lots of nice walking path, lawn area, monuments and history to the park.

Having visited Tiergarten in summer and winter, it's a park that can be enjoyed all year round, I always make sure I visit this park whenever I'm in Berlin.

We had a walk around after paying our €2 enterance fee, and settled at one of the bars for drinks before getting a vegan sausage, cabbage, dumplings and sauce bowl (so tasty!) and a bratwurst! Fun spot to people watch, enjoy some traditional live music, and soak in the atmosphere.

A great spot for technology fans. Our son is a teenager and loved this place. Great exhibitions of shipping, aviation, cars, Internet and old computing technology. His favourite bit was the planes including an impressive plane mounted on the roof of the museum. Something to interest everyone here, some interactive exhibits in shipping, information boards in German and English. Plenty to see and read about.
Spread out over several modern buildings with a couple of cafes, toilets, lockers at the entrance as well if needed to store coats. There is an outdoor park as well with an outdoor coffee cart and benches for a pleasant break after we had seen the shipping and planes section. Then we went across the road to the motors and computing. We spent about 3 hours here in total.
We booked tickets online easily the night before going and showed our tickets on our phone. Under 18s go free and there is a discount if you have a Berlin Welcome Card. This made it very good value for money for a family. Would recommend to families with children/teenagers who have an interest in technology.

I want to provide the floor plan map of DDR Museums. During my trip planning, I realised that the museum floor plan of this popular museum is not available online. Hence I am posting the floor plan map for the benefit of one and all.

Went on the English speaking tour (Sun 19th May) and was great and very informative. Not rushed and covered a lot. Sensitively covered the historical parts right up to current sports events. Really enjoyed and pass on my thanks to Jenny W. 👍😊

This is a huge monument and impressive monument which can be seen from some considerable distance. You can walk to it through Tiergarten although it takes longer than you think and climb all the way to the top, which I wish I had done. It gives me an excellent reason though to go back.

Stayed in this area for a short city break and we were impressed with the facilities being two very large shopping malls nearby along with many good restaurants, the area also has very good transportation links to many other locations in Berlin

The place where you can breathe freely, you can take a long walk through the park, relax and take beautiful photos, a quiet place that you can't stop visiting!

This is the very heart of Berlin - literally where east met west and slap bang in the middle of town. The area does feel a little run down but is nevertheless is bustling and full of life with all the usual shops and services and a short walk to the River. As one of the main interchanges everyone will pass through here at some point.
