- chrisp59Birmingham, UK31 contributionsDuring a recent 3 night stay in Berlin from the Uk we were keen to try out a local jazz club and we saw on Instagram a debut album release tour by a young German trumpet player by the name of Bill Petry. We booked 2 seats online prior and found ourselves right next to the stage. The club itself is pretty small and was sold out with people being turned away as we arrived so booking essential I guess. Service was excellent with drink prices reasonable but NO FOOD so eat before hand as there are plenty of good restaurants nearby. The music was superb and we purchased his debut cd at the interval. Our hotel concierge left a VMware to reserve a table. The club’s message promised a return call if tables were taken. We did not hear back. Upon arrival, we immediately noticed the cash only policy. That caused us twenty minutes to the locate an ATM machine. Finally entering the club, a rather haughty women immediately announced that we were on the list. After a bit of back and forth she did acknowledge that were seats available and that we might be able to move up if there was a no show for the reserved table. (This turned out to be the case).
The performance was great. The on-line program description matched what was presented.
Waitstaff were prompt and efficient. Our bar tab was quite reasonable.
