Many nice arts and painting. It is worth to visit this museum and have a new nice coffee and snacks there. Also it is surprised to see the famous rare painting of Van Gogh.

This is a marvelous museum that is small enough to enjoy within an hour. Walking distance to many of the other museums and sites . Perfect example of art from 1850-1940s. Blue Rider art movement is big here.

Great museum but the worst coffee shop ever with the laziest staff ever. At 5 o’clock they decided they don’t want to work until 6 o’clock when the museum closes so the guy working there stands there with his arms folded for an hour doing nothing.

We visited on a wet Sunday. It was only 1 euro 😊. Go early on Sundays there are queues lunchtime onwards.
Art and design. Lots to interest even if you are not especially interested in modern art. Worth a visit.

A nice place to visit when you go to Munich. Purchase of the ticket allows you entry to the opposite museum too. Large space. Worth the money. The staff are friendly and helpful.

I thought it would be a history museum, but it’s more art (mostly excluding painting) from about the Middle Ages to 1800’s. Art nouveau was closed when I was there. The most amazing ivory carvings and wood sculptures. Majority is German created.

The Haus der Kunst is fascinating! The history of the building was very compelling and the temporary exhibits were beautifully put together. The architecture of the building alone is worthy of a visit.

This museum houses a collection of Greek and Etruscan artefacts displayed in a traditional manner. The quality of the exhibits is high but some rooms were closed when we visited so it was quite a short visit. That said we enjoyed the museum and entry was included in the admission price of the Glyptothek situated on the opposite side of Konigsplatz

Really interesting and impressive interior design of two rooms of the artist home. Some impressive art and bronzes also on display. Very reasonable entry and worth 45 minutes of a tour schedule.

Nice museum and inspiration to tolerance and travel. The Myanmar rooms are beautifully done, the further exhibitions are nice. A bargain on Sunday for 1 Eur.

We dedicated 2 hours to the Residenz and bought the ticket with the Treasury, Theater and Residenz and we enjoyed all three. The Treasury museum is a very good purchase. Later in our trip I saw the Treasury in Vienna and this once equal on quality even if not history. It has some very impressive pieces as well as very old pieces. The audio guide is great allowing you to see and learn about the main pieces. If you want to hear about every piece you could do that as well, we did not have enough time and wanted highlights. The best things to see are the Bavarian Crown Jewels and jeweled St. George and the dragon statue. We may have missed a couple of rooms in the far north end of the Residenz but I believe see the items in the Treasury was worth the trade. BUY the Treasury combo ticket and allot 2 hours.

The Die Neue Sammlung (€10 per adult) is housed in the same building as the Pinakothek der Modern and is recognised as one of the most important design and applied art museums in the world.

Opening hours are 10am to 6pm daily with extended hours on Thursdays evening until 8pm. The museum is closed on Mondays. Entry ticket includes access to both the Pinakothek der Modern and Die Neue Sammlung.

Located in the underground floor, here you find some intensive exhibitions on industrial, graphic and furniture design. There are also impressive jewelery, ceramics as well as artistically created objects on display. We spent around 45 minutes browsing the galleries of the Die Neue Sammlung, finding this to be a very good complement to the traditional Modern Art galleries and exhibition in the upstairs floors of the Pinakothek der Modern.

Note: There is a ground floor cafe with outdoor seating at the museum. This makes for a good rest break in between your visits to Die Neue Sammlung and Pinakothek der Modern. The cafe is open from 10am to 4pm daily with extended hours on Thursday.

Note: Entrance to all Die Pinakotheken museums in Munich are €1 on Sundays. As such, you can save quite a bit on museum fees if you visit 2-3 on the day.

Visited to see the Damien Hurst exhibition. Can’t say that I enjoyed viewing much of it but certainly have something to talk about after regarding a sheep in formaldehyde, autopsy table, hundreds of pills and thousands of fat ends.
