The Chateau de Chantilly, also known as Domaine de Chantilly, is a beautiful place to visit with lovely formal and informal gardens, water features, museums, and the beautiful Chateau itself.
Chantilly is an amazing day-long activity: after visiting the chateau and the different parks, we saw the "Musee du Cheval" (an equestrian museum), a horse show and the stables - the largest stables in Europe!

We spent a good couple of hours and learnt a lot, unlike many museums in France, the English language is well catered for, I would definitely recommend a visit if you are in the area.
Thoroughly recommended as one of the major museums in the north of France.

There are many museums in and around the area but I believe this one with its connection to Australia is well worth the effort.
This intimate museum was special to me as my grandfather fought at Villers-Bretonneux, so it was fascinating to view photos of soldiers from his battalion and see the conditions he fought through.
