If you are visiting Vanuatu and on Efate Island a trip to the Blue Lagoon, about 45 minutes East of Port Vila is well worth it. A cool spring fed lagoon which also opens to the sea. Very family friendly, change room and toilets available though very basic. Drop in at the Rentapao River falls on the way past.

Just a 30 min ride from the Port, we arrived at Eden, which is not only the bridges walk but also a farm.
After a warm welcome, we were inducted into the harnesses. The instructors had very good English and patient. A short walk down to the river, stopping along the way for a description of the local plants, and we had arrived.
The staff were very helpful and stationed at each of the three bridges. The bridges are well maintained and sturdy. Make sure you stop along the way and observe the scenery as it is breathtaking. After the walk we had a quick dip in the river which was refreshing.
Short walk up the hill and some fresh local fruit was a wonderful end to the morning.
Toilets were clean and tidy (flushing type) and also a shower available. Food and drinks available for purchase on site.
    A great experience!

Great place to buy fruit and veg. Can't get fresher. Plus flowers veggie chips etc. Food section at back large servings for really cheap price. Real local fare. Curries, fish meat stews with cassava etc.
All friendly and just remember to bring your bag.

Worth the experience but unfortunately the snorkeling wasn't that great compared to other places. If you go here - reef shoes are a must! The water's edge is made up of dead coral and sea shells. We had a nice meal here and managed to enjoy quite a few hours in the peaceful surroundings.

Again wow what an experience awsome walk through the greenery crossing lil river ways seeing the views of cascades along the way to a great big waterfall at the end. Standing there was so breathtaking and refreshing. In the middle of nowhere. I recommend this to anyone 😍

Enchanting young (and older) hawksbill turtles are a particular highlight (and worth the 2000 Vatu entry fee alone) - and the young guide we had was particualrly enthusiatic about the conservation and release work the centre undertakes.

I wouldn't say it's a "must-do", more of a "cool to do". Approx $6AUD to purchase a postcard and pencil, write your message, then post it yourself. The post box gets cleared daily, and you can say you sent a postcard from underwater.

The current was a little strong the day we were out, but the "post office" is right off the beach and near a pontoon so easy to access (and have a break inbetween). You can snorkel to the letter box, but still need to dive down to post the letter.

You can stay on hideaway island for the whole day or just 2 hours like we did. Went for a swim, posted our card, had a drink, then back to the main beach.
I recommend aqua shoes as the beach is (painful) dead coral.

Spent an afternoon on this resort island for a walk and then snorkel in a reef area designated for snorkelling which is fronted by a concreted area with basic deck chairs, a bar and toilet facility. Not the best place of places for corals etc but pleasant all the same to explore and see some marine life. There was a young sea snake near the shore that I missed. The resort has is a fancy restaurant and bar overlooking the bay where it might be nice to have a drink or meal, and watch the sunset. Boats to the island leave from near the Grand Hotel.

Great place to spend an hour or two with teens with the bonus of being a great place to cool off in fresh water.

The lower pool would better suit those less adventurous who just want to cool off. But for those a little more adventurous head to the top pools with the rope swing, high jumping platform and water fall. My teens loved it and even my wife who is a little more reserved jumped off the high platform.

Once in you can swim under the waterfall. The current of the stream is quick strong but with Simon’s (local owner) assistance our whole family got under the falls.

They also have floatation vests for those who may have difficulty with swimming.

It cost 1500 vat (20aud) per adult (12 and over) and 500vat for children. I thought it was well worth it

Pretty location, gorgeous waterfall. Although the facilities are looking run down. No refreshments available to purchase .

I have visited the museum a few times and the sand drawing artist has always been away. He was also away on this trip but a trainee created some excellent drawings for us.
A few people have commented on the lighting level. Low lighting levels are needed in museums displaying textiles. Vanuatu museum has tried to solve this by lowering light levels and installing UV film on the cabinet glass. This combination has made the signs in the cabinets unreadable. The museum needs to seek assistance from museum experts in other Pacific countries on how to work out better displays.
The Lapita pottery is a treasure. No worry with lights on it so illumination on these exhibits please.
