#1 of 121 Museums in Nord-Pas-de-Calais
Very nice visit of an original museum, but on top of that the explanation by Sebastien, in French, who was a fisherman for 20 years, made things fascinating and with a profound human touch.
This goes to explain the situation of the museum which prides itself on this heritage.

Blockhaus d'Eperlecques Eperlecques, France
#3 of 121 Museums in Nord-Pas-de-Calais
I have visited some of the museums in Normandy and the Blockhaus is comparable with the best of them.

Took a trip to Roubaix especially to see this museum, and after a holiday of museums this one was a breath of fresh air!
It conveys this idea of sumptuousness and exclusivity missing in other major museums.

This unique museum takes you down into the limestone mines where soldiers lived in the tunnels in the days and months leading up to that seminal battle of WWI.
A very interesting informative museum with an insight into the underground tunnels at Arras.

Outstanding, one of the best WW2 Museums I have ever been to
There are many small WWII museums in northern France, but this is among the best, with plenty of well-presented exhibits, though it is rather a shame the main gun has gone.

Maison du Marais Saint-Martin-au-Laert, France
#23 of 121 Museums in Nord-Pas-de-Calais
It houses a museum devoted to the Marais: an extensive area of wetlands which has been developed and exploited in many different ways throughout the centuries.

There must be other museums around the world which are like this, but I am struggling to think of one that I have been to.
Set in a Victorian style building, the museum has a well presented range of natural features, from living rare insects to a wide range of taxidermy covering birds to large mammals from different areas of the globe.
