We got married at Les Salons Hoche in October 2019.

The venue was absolutely beautiful. We had the Haussman apartments for the bridal parties to get ready hours before the ceremony which were large and well decorated. First look in a beautiful courtyard. They provided us with a 1950's Rolls Royce and a driver to take us around Paris for photos. The wedding on the rooftop, enclosed in glass. Cocktail hour was in another room with extra space in the courtyard. The reception took place in a beautiful, marble-floored room called Etoile.

They host a lot of events there, so when you visit before the wedding there is lots of work going on. On the day of, the location is completely transformed with tasteful details.

The food was amazing. We upgraded (to "Prestige") and it exceeded expectations. Our guests, who come from New York City and attend lots of weddings, loved the quality/flavor during cocktail and dinner. We had the salad with lobster and mango (excellent), Beef Tenderloin (excellent), and Assortment of Cheeses (you're in France, of course, this is good :) ) , and the Cake (American style with strawberry inside - a huge hit with our guests).

Thank you for all the hard work and great communication Guiliana. You were amazing to work with. Across many time zones (9 hours) you were always available.

The true test of the success of a wedding comes after it's all over. When I asked my wife "what would you change about the wedding day", her response was "not a single thing",

Came here for a congress. The meeting rooms snd service are generally ok. Some shops here and there. But not enough sitting areas, cafes and restaurants. You have to go next door to Hyatt hotel

The Brongniart palace was a19th century Paris' stock exchange - the Bourse. Same name metro station is few met away.
Today this huge classic edifice is a conference venue with spaces for events. Didn't manage to enter it.

The "Espace Champerret" is a complex comprising several rooms near the Porte de Champerret, in Paris, where congresses and exhibitions are held. I was here for the "Salon philatélique d'automne" (Autumn Philatelic Fair).
The hall was well organized, with several vendors and postal administrations, and also a bar and some seating area. Entrance was free.

Nice center but I could not stand how they locked the bathrooms so the 800-1000 people setting up their booths could not use the stinking bathroom without going all the way out of the convention center and up and escalator and then all the way back out of the building to come down the escalator and back to booth. Possibly a quarter mile each way. To go to the bathroom!!!

The Balassi Institute in Saint-Germain was very close to the apartment we were staying in and we walked by it several times. Though I didn't really know what it was, the unique bronze statue out front of a lady sitting on a bench with her hands folded under her chin and wearing a huge floppy hat peaked my interest. The statue was intriguing enough that I snapped a couple of pictures the first time we passed. By chance, I then noticed a picture of the statue on the back cover of a tourist book in our apartment. I then went online to try and find out what the Balassi Institute actually was. This was what I found: The Balassi Institute is a worldwide non-profit cultural organization funded by the ministry of education of Hungary. The Institute spreads and promotes Hungarian language and culture abroad and is one of the oldest foreign cultural centers in Paris. It organizes multiple cultural special events: exhibitions, concerts, literary evenings, conferences, debates, and Hungarian classes. It plays a key role in developing and attaining Hungary’s objectives in the area of cultural diplomacy. Okay, so now I know what the Balassi Institute is, but it still doesn’t really explain the reason for having the unique statue out front. By the way, an apartment or hotel in the historical Saint-Germain neighborhood is a great place to use as a home base when you are visiting Paris. We spent a little over a week in an apartment in the area and loved every minute of it.
