if you are in the St. Germain des Prés area, try and stop at this market. On the high end of the spectrum, if has stands offering high quality cheese, meat, seafood, veggies, assorted patisseries etc. (there is an Iranian pastry shop which is nice). In one corner is a Thai/Chinese snck bar offering good dumplings....

This little market was near our AirBNB. It was great to go grocery shopping for some local cheese, bread and meats. We bought some fresh fruit and were able to pack from lovely picnics during our time in Paris. My recommendation is to pack a reusable grocery bag to make your market shopping easier.

Was nice. Found all that I needed. Expensive yes, to be expected. They should also think about selling organic seeds there as well. The apples were delicious

This market was very nice but we didn’t need someone to tell us about cheese, fish or meat. And our chef bought nothing for our meager lunch. That was already planned in advance.

There are a lot of outdoor markets in Paris and this one serves this neighborhood in the 15th, A good place to buy your food and fun to shop.

Accidentally stumbled upon this one...it is open this Saturday, although due to my non existent French skills, cant say whether it is every Saturday. Farmers market boasting beautifully arranged stalls of cheese, meat, vegetables, and freshly grilled meats. Other stalls offer organic toiletries, plants, or jams. On this occasion we were treated to a fabulous 4 piece band playing jazzy tunes. Great place to buy a bottle of wine ,some snacks , and enjoy a relaxing afternoon under the trees.

The market we see today was reconstructed in 1880, built in the baltard style, these days there is something for everyone posh fruit and vege stalls as well, as organic groceries, a little on the pricey side for us.

This market is held three days a week, and I must admit the Tuesday market is not nearly as good as the Friday and the Sunday is the best of all. However, even with fewer vendors, the quality of the merchandise is high, the prices reasonable, and the market well worth a visit should you be in the 13th on one of those three days.

We stumbled upon this Saturday morning market after leaving our nearby hotel.
Wonderful display of fresh food including fruit, vegetables, cheese & fish as well as some quality clothing. Obviously patronised by the locals as there were very few tourists around. We sampled delicious crepes & pastries.

We needed to add to our cheese tray and a few doors along was this well stocked farmers market. Friendly staff helped us understand their specials as we loaded up in search of the wine next!!

Riding the escalator up from the Place Monge Metro station brings you to a tree covered square with a fountain at its center. It doesn’t look like much many days, but on market days it is completely transformed. It is one of those locations in Paris where a “pop-up market” appears at least a couple of days most weeks. The square is fitted with brackets in the paving, and the afternoon before a market day a crew erects the covered pole structures. Early the next morning the market is filled with vendors selling meat, fish, fresh fruits and vegetables, baked goods, crepes, and other fresh food items. The neighborhood descends to stock up on all of this freshness. By afternoon the market is gone, and the pole structures are removed. It is a truly delightful experience even for the traveler staying in nearby hotels. While much of the products are not suitable for hotel room picnicking, one can find fresh fruits, bakery goods, or items to snack on. Well worth a stroll through the stalls if you are in the area.
