We visited here last week my granddaughter chose her day out here for her Birthday! We had to book in advance and we were given entry times which was good.....we also had to make a donation on line before we could book. No complaints with that it's a great place to visit and we usually make a donation on site anyway!
As most of our visit was outside there wasn't much that we couldn't do. We wore masks when advised and kept to the clearly explained instructions while navigating the site. Staff were on hand to advise or direct and all knew their stuff! The cafe wasn't open but there was a mobile van on site for snacks coffee etc.
We all visited the toilets throughout the day and can honestly say the toilets were immaculate.....cleanest I have ever seen...so we were very comfortable and confident using them. All in all a fantastic day out as usual...our kids never tire of visiting here as they grow their interests change so every time we visit they discover something "new!"
Only down side for us was the visitors who didn't adhere to the rules regarding social distancing or the correct route round the park.....and there were a good few of them!!!
None of this was anything to do with the park they had set everything up correctly but these people obviously considered themselves immune!!!!
Don’t know why this review didn’t post…..I’m obviously getting old and forgetful. 😊
    But to update now…
We have been back a good few times since that visit and have only praise for the way this attraction is managed. Such a fabulous place to visit and our grandchildren love it there…..it’s the one place they always pick if we ask where they want to have a day out. It changes all the time and you always seem to notice something new on every visit…..the volunteers who are dotted around giving information on various parts of the museum are very informative and answer any questions you or the kids have…..and …..it is free entry ….but…..it is suggested you make a donation ….if you visit I’m sure you will agree it’s well worth a good donation!

We had some free time in Fort William on our last day before leaving and decided to visit it before going as it was on the main high street and free entry and we are really glad we did.

It’s a free museum and there’s so much to see and read about it’s fantastic. I highly recommend a visit if you’re in the area.

This is an exceptional Heritage Museum with a great deal of exceptional and historic items on display. Covering the history of Wick this Museum provides something for everyone with a number of themes exploring multiple elements of Wick’s history.

It is impressive how much of Wick’s heritage the Society has been able to preserve with many of the objects making this heritage museum heads and shoulders above the rest.

Love this museum, it's stunning as a building, very unexpected in a small West Coast Village. It's really inspiring, I love the way that it community built and managed, so creatively laid out with loads to look at and learn. I love the way that includes local history and artists and designers. The shop is great and the coffee shop is a great place to stop for a while. Highly recommended.

Small but perfectly formed! Popped in during one of my many visits, as it's a place I had always meant to see. And I wasn't disappointed. Might not be the biggest museum you'll ever see, but the staff were very enthusiastic, and the exhibits painted a very interesting picture of local history over the millennia.
Speaking of paintings, they also feature a lot of work by local artists. A return visit is planned.

First of this museum is part of the Fort George. Second the museum is a history on a former Royal 👸 Regiment that belonged to the late Prince 🫅 Philip. Lastly, it is fun 🤩 place to go .

We had a great time. And genuinely learnt things. The animation and interactive elements are done really well. It gives a genuine balanced view.

Also in truth we went in with low expectations but it really was good

We called in on the recommendation of our landlady. It’s a beautiful gallery - open every day and serves free coffee! The lovely lady who was working there gave us insight, local knowledge and advice. Really nice chat and the photography is just beautiful.

We went as part of a Lochs and Glens tour. We didn't spend too much time there but it was interesting and well laid out. The staff there are very friendly.

We visited the museum today (quite quickly because it was almost closing) and it was really worth going! It has really nice picts stones, the staff is really nice and we had a lot of explanations. There was also a small exhibition about the Book of Kells and explanations about ongoing archaeological research !
Allow at least an hour for the visit.

This little Museum is fabulous - and staffed by a lovely local volunteer on the day we visited.
We were so impressed by the quality of the presentation - informative and very personal stories describe the impact and horror of the Clearances. A wonderful and engaging opportunity to learn more about the local history of this beautiful part of Scotland. Thank you so much.

A small centre with heaps of interesting artefacts. We went there chasing information on four particular ships and were lucky enough to find two of them mentioned in documents. Parking was free and admission price was twelve pounds each. A must for Russian Arctic Convoy and 2nd World War history buffs.

What a brilliant museum. There is so much amazing history associated with Dornoch and this little museum packs it all in. We visited with an 8 and a 13 year old and both were really interested for the 1hr 45mins we were in. A great little quiz for the kids and other activities including dressing up, a Gaelic spelling quiz, and other stuff. We are members of the NTS and visited Culloden yesterday. History Links at Dornoch has so much more to offer than Culloden and is well worth the £9 we paid to get in. Thank you so much to everyone involved in organising this museum and keeping it going.

We came across the Land Sea and Islands Centre on our way from a walk we'd taken nearby. Our family of three thought we might just stay for a few minutes to take a quick look but we ended up staying for about 45 minutes, there was so much to learn ranging from local history to information about local wildlife. There was also a great view of the harbor just behind the building, with more information about local wildlife and a set of benches where you could sit to take in the view. There was a playground across the street as well, but we didn't end up going because we were having a good time exploring the Centre and walking along the harbor area.
