This is the fifth time I have had the pleasure of hosting a private event at the House for an Art Lover.

This venue for us, is without a doubt, ideal. "The View" room is our go-to and never fails to impress. True to its name, with a beautiful outlook, complemented by the cozy couches and a spacious oval table, comfortably accommodates 20 guests.

A very relaxed atmosphere, our guests never felt rushed. The staff (including Gillian, Melissa and Rowan) were lovely - friendly and attentive. The food was absolutely delicious and having pre-ordered our menu selection and arranged a table plan, every guest received their desired meal promptly and accurately.

I dealt with Kate in the Events team prior to our visit, she made life so much easier, nothing was too much trouble and the whole process was seamless and personal. I would highly recommend this venue for business or a private celebration.

This unique experience is quite wonderful! I have been before but wanted to bring my teenager for their first time -- we came to see the 'Promenade' performance. The artworks, the lighting, the music, the history and the overall atmosphere combine to create a truly strange and magical effect - I am so grateful that we have this in Scotland and hope it remains here for a long time. All visitors to Glasgow with an interest in arts and culture who are looking for something a bit different should definitely come to this. We combined it with a visit to the Britannia Panopticon, Britain's oldest surviving music hall, which is just around the corner.

I visted two exhibitions here in March, yes alot of the building has been destroyed but very much so still a lively hub of creative energy. It is worth a walk from the town, Garnethill a very interesting part of Glasgow, albeit quite steep!

Climb the steps and you have a great view of the city. Take the lift and you get an alternative perspective. The Mackintosh exhibition is very interesting with models, time lines and furniture, there is a cafe and a shop too. Lovely staff made the whole thing even more pleasurable

    A great art gallery

The collection is very well presented in a lively and creative way

The Mackintosh house is amazing and a must see even though there is a charge for that part of the museum

I went to Princes Square on Buchanan Street to go to the Everyman cinema which is the best cinema experience I've had. Not only do they offer you a restaurant menu but they will deliver your order to your cinema seat. Speaking of the cinema seats. You can get a two-seater for you and your partner. And the seats are large and plush: very much like sitting on a sofa. Ideal for couples who enjoy going to the cinema. It's very easy to let your partner snuggle into you as you eat your meal and watch a movie. I hear there's a DJ on Friday and Saturday nights that's advertised by October Rooftop Bar. So, if you go for an evening showing of a movie on Friday and Saturday at Everyman, you could probably end your evening at the cinema with a cocktail and a dance or two to the DJ's music. Check out the Everyman and the October websites to know more.

Beautiful craftsmanship with traditional themes. Lovely to find gifts that are not industrialized pieces. Helpful staff.

Good selection of stores - fashion, food, department store, etc.
Good for dinner options if you are looking for somewhere to eat out. Morrison a supermarket is in complex next door.

I visited here with my gran daughter for next , build - a - bear boots , Burger King and John Lewis . The next trip was a fail for us as they never had what we were looking for but the women’s department was tidy but the children and men bit definitely needed a tidy in men’s there was socks and boxers on the floor and at the children’s but there was a lot of rubbish for others store , all the clothes in the children’s bit weren’t organised good ethier . Build - a - bear was a success for us my gran daughter picked out a cute bear in the sale and the staff were lovely and so good with kids my granddaughter didn’t want an outfit for her teddy but if she did there would be loads to choose from . Once my grandaughter and I left build a bear we seen there was a foodcourt with a burger king upstairs so we headed up there it was very cofusing to get up there , there was no stairs or anything up so the only way to get up is through John Lewis , once we finally got up se noiced it was dirty ( not as bad as st enoch center ) but still very dirty there was also not one table so we had no luck eating there . Luckily when we walked through John Lewis we noticed there was a tea room so we ate in there , I have to say I was glad we ate there instead beacuse the food was so nice and cheap priced my gran daughter got iron bru and a chocolate cake she said it was lovely I got a cinnamon cake and coffee unfortunately my cinnamon cake was too much for me so my gran daughter helped me finish that off you can also just leave your try for the staff to take away and bin . After John Lewis we went to boots to see if there was anything in the sale boots was a very , very tidy and clean store compared to some of the other ones unfortunately for us most of the sale stuff was away but luckily my gran daughter got a face mask and some Mario stickers she got both for £5 which I think is brilliant. The center is clean overall but I feel as if it could be doing with a small tidy

Great shopping centre with various things going on to attract customers.

This time it was the costumes from the TV Show, the masked singer with a range of the real thing available to view and a fair sized crowd sizing them up. Whether any of those looking at them would have fooled the judges remains to be (never) seen but the excitement of the kids who were looking at them suggests that the management of the shopping centre have a winner on their hands with this feature.

Great range of shops and eating houses to complete our visit.

One of the better shopping malls in Scotland.

Nice visit today. Had the pleasure of attending a third year recital by Niamh Doohan (fiddle) from the Royal Conservatoire of Scotland and an exhibition by Renee Helena Brown entitled A Strange Eight.

Barras market is an absolute clash between the generations. All the stalls are either antique/junk stalls with so much broadly undesirable stuff that you wonder how they ever stay open, and trendy millennial stalls selling fancy cookies and thrifty clothing and such.

In a way it is nice that the barred has preserved so much of the past, there aren’t many places like this anymore and it is very nostalgic and unique, you could find some things here you’d never find anywhere else. On the other hand like I said some stalls are just pure rubbish, like rejects from a charity shop, or worse have offensive items like racist memorabilia or a corner dedicated to “wimmin’s books” with old illustrations of housewives being spanked that make my stomach turn.

There are definitely some gems though. Cookie Lady Mel makes some delicious bakes and if you are a maximalist you have GOT to check out Lulu Makes Things, she’s the best upcycler I’ve ever encountered. Honestly the Barras is worth visiting at least once, it’s a Glasgow staple

Really interesting. Can’t wait to see the building reopen in 2019. Laura L was very interesting and brought the tour to life as she had studied there before the fire.

As a serious antiquarian book collector from the US, I thoroughly enjoyed visiting Caledonia Books. Proprietors Martin and his sister (My apologies for not remembering her name) were very friendly and once they understood what I was looking for were extremely helpful. Very nice selection of contemporary to antique books. Definitely one of the shops to visit when in Scotland.
