- edinburghcitymomEdinburgh, UK1,284 contributionsIf you are visiting the modern art gallery TWO, then step behind the building, at the car park to this world of amazing tombs and monuments. It's a short circular walk full of fascinating graves and interesting historical tributes to Edinburgh wealthy lords and ladies, from the Victorian days to the present.
Look out for the Fallen soldier Colonel Robert Smith, who led the charge at Fort Craig, died aged 26, from the 10th Mississippi regiment.
The cemetery path is uneven but easy to follow. You can leave by the far end, if you turn left then you are on Queensferry road and it's 10 mins walk to the West End. The cemetery closed at 5pm daily.Written 15 April 2017This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - matthew pEdinburgh, UK121 contributionsI went here as I got a graveyard book and can look up names of long since dead famous edinburgh folk, there is a statue outside the church of Robert Louis Stevenson whom came from the area. There are two graveyards in this church but can be bit slippery to walk in rainy weather. Also when you walking around the graveyards you can see a waterfall and the water of leith. When you leave the church I walked up the lang steps from here which also gave information regarding robert Louis Stephenson and which took me up to the village of colinton.Written 3 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
