- Danks KnowsShoalhaven, Australia2,070 contributionsSt Columb’s Cathedral is in Derry, Northern Ireland. It is a very majestic cathedral that has served a city torn apart by politics. The cathedral is very close to the walled fortification of Derry and you will pass it if you are walking around the wall.
Well worth a visit.Written 22 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The site of the St Colmcille Abbey, approx. 546AD (Colmcille became Columba). It is an understated warm welcoming church. This belies the truly troubled past it has endured.Written 18 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We weren't inside so cannot comment on that.Written 17 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

The priest are friendly and the people there are friendly too!
The church and it's grounds are very clean and the Faughanvale community should take as much advantage of this wonderful place as they possibly can!
If you are looking for a lovely church which give a lovely mass then Star of the Sea is certainly the place to be!

Walled off and closed to public, perhaps because of recent troubles. Wonderful to see from the outside though.Written 1 February 2012This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
