What travellers are saying
- Mike A128 contributionsSo much to see! Lots of old buildings from across Wales rebuilt on the museum site along with a few reconstructions based on archaeological evidence (such as the Iron Age roundhouse). My only regret is that because of bus times I ended up missing quite a bit of what's there - you'd really need a full day to appreciate this place even with a short attention span like mine!Written 27 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - The DaresLondon, UK37 contributionsThis castle stands out as unique and interesting compared to other castles I have seen in the past. It truly deserves a visit, especially when you combine your trip with exploring the beautiful city of Cardiff, which also offers plenty of attractions and experiences.Written 27 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Kalli S1 contributionThe people who are in Cardiff are amazing people all off them are very kind and it is a beautiful place to go to with all of the sights to see such as the bay its self and the Senath. I went to Cardiff Bay on a school trip and the bowling was very fun so I recommend going there for an Activity!Written 17 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lynda E10 contributionsLove this place. So quirky and interesting, and amazing artwork. Great story to the castle and it's history. Lovingly restored by obvious enthusiasts. The little café serves good Welsh tea and cakes. Spiral staircases are quite steep, if you're not steady on your feet. Friendly, helpful staff and easy parking. Woodland walks.Written 11 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

- Gaynor91Cardiff, UK632 contributionsJust home after watching the matinee performance of Ghost. I went with my husband and we had front row seats. Brilliant performance, I cried at the end, so touching. Always enjoy the shows in the Millenium, ample leg room, the staff are always efficient and friendly, and its a lovely venue. It also helps that I live 10 minutes walk away! Got a few more shows booked in the next couple of months, looking forward to them!Written 8 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Al D4 contributionsWe had a really great experience on the tour with Tony our guide. He was so knowledgeable, answered all our questions and really helped us understand what life was like for a miner. Thank you for a lovely tour.Written 7 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Suee9 contributionsThis was incredible! There was so much to do! We spent a good, 2/3 hours here! Only downside was trying to do all of it, some kids were just "hogging" it, which is fine, they are kids at the end of the day, but honestly it was great fun, the only thing I would suggest is maybe more floor staff? To just make sure all the things are working or just show demonstrations on the activities.Written 11 June 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - SJM_DCWashington DC, DC85 contributionsWe forgot we were in a city while visiting this quiet, meditative park abutting Cardiff Castle. There are many trails for walking and cycling, as well as a couple places to refuel if need be. Our kids loved the little percussion installations lining a trail in the southwest quarter of the park, as well as a play area next to the Summerhouse Cafe. It was an amazing experience!Written 27 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Osher S61 contributionsMy mom and I visited Cardiff Market, and it was a lot of fun to browse around! The atmosphere was lively, and the people were lovely. I’d heard great things about the freshly made Welshcakes, and they did not disappoint—definitely try them while they’re still warm! We also found some interesting booths selling teas, herbs, and incense sticks at good prices. There are plenty of places to sit and eat on the second floor, making it a great spot to hang out for a couple of hours in the afternoon.Written 12 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - RallyWiltshire, UK71 contributionsA stunning cathedral with such a history behind it. It’s off the beaten path, but we’ll worth the walk.
Llandaff is a lovely place with a nice walk to the wier well worth the effort.Written 4 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. There is also a small area sheltered by trees at one end and a flower garden and a play park at the other. There is so much wildlife to see; squirrels, moorhens, swans, ducks, geese. The flower garden is well worth a visit when the roses are blossoming later in the year. There is also a cafe but we didn’t go there this time.
It is a short walk from the Heath High Level station. I feel it could be better advertised. We only know about this place - and have been coming to it for years - because we are relatively local. It’s a bit hard to find.
There are toilets - The toilets by the play park are okay but the ones by the ice cream shop are awful, there isn’t even water in the sinks anymore. There are also toilets in the cafe for paying customers only.Written 18 March 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
