What travellers are saying
- Lisa P1 contributionStunning views, well-maintained paths, very dog-friendly.
Amazing to see so many red kites - such a beautiful sight. Well worth visiting at feeding time (3pm BST, 2pm GMT) to see them flock over the lake.
Great play areas for kids.
Nice cafe with plenty of indoor & outdoor seating.
Will definitely visit again!Written 23 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Great time to go (Midweek November) as it was nice and quiet. My guide was great on both tours and really got into the acting (and was very scary) Would highly recommened a day out here. :)Written 12 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Ragnar Redbeard19 contributionsThis is, in my opinion, simply amongst the best museums I have ever visited, and I have been in quite a few!
The Ceredigion Museum is housed in a beautiful old theatre and is absolutely crammed full of amazing things to see. The theming and lay-out of displays is simply first class, and the variety of exhibits on show is superb. I have visited multiple times over the years, and still manage to find new things on every visit. Here you can see everything from maritime history to rural life, and the fascinating archaeology gallery even houses a human skeleton found in Aberystwyth castle.
This is a perfect example of how a museum should be. I could happily spend all day there, the atmosphere of the building is wonderful and you are guaranteed a friendly welcome. Aberystwyth is very lucky to have this excellent attraction only a stones throw from the beach.
The museum now charges £2 entry (tickets are bought from the shop on the ground floor), whereas before it was free entry with a donations option. £2 for a museum of this standard is probably the best value you will find anywhere, I really can't see anybody visiting here and not coming away impressed. Give it a go on your next visit to Aberystwyth!Written 26 July 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Gentleman’s walk had great variety, woodland, waterfalls, trails and wider tracks and some absolutely stunning views. Will definitely be back.Written 8 September 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.

If you want to experience this then simply go and take photographs of it.

The track was long and bumpy, but well worth it when you arrive.
Owners were lovely, very friendly and helpful.
So much to see and do. Children are catered for as much as the adults. Fairy garden, dragons. Musical instruments to name a few. The cave was fascinating, especially when the birds started to fly around us inside! As a keen gardener myself, I am always looking for new ideas and I have plenty. The owners' dogs were delightful and kept coming to find us around the large gardens. Numerous seating areas so you could pause and reflect in each area.
A wonderful place to visit. Well worth the small entrance fee. I will definitely be returning to see the newest developments.Written 18 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. It was designed by the renowned Italian sculptor Mario Rutelli of Palermo, and unveiled in 1923. The bronze statue of a woman alighting on top of the column, represents Winged Victory bringing peace . At the foot of the obelisk , a figure of a beautiful naked woman emerges from foliage - symbolising Humanity rising from the chaos and horror of war. The lower pedestal stone column records the names of the 111 fallen local people in W.W.1. , and a further 78 names were added for those lost in the Second World War. There is also a Great War Medallion alongside the arms of Aberystwyth, and a Welsh dragon.Written 29 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - ChrisHinckley, UK1,052 contributionsWe had a walk on the beach which is main stones with patches of sand closer to the water. The beach is nice to walk along, the path is nice but could be cleaner. - account2018Nuku'alofa, Tonga212 contributionsThe visitor centre is open again under new management. - alibatty🦇Dundee, UK21,377 contributionsThis is a perfectly pleasant shallow beach that’s a mix of both golden biscuit coloured sand and shingle. It’s a Blue Flag, and Seaside Award winning beach with seasonal lifeguard service provided. Apparently on a clear day the peaks of Snowdonia can be seen from here, but quite honestly the elegant , well-kept Victorian promenade is what really enhances its charm. If you’re lucky enough to find a parking space along the beachfront , you can park free for up to 4 hours.Written 30 August 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - alibatty🦇Dundee, UK21,377 contributionsThis is an attractive little harbour overlooked by the green hill of Pen Dinas. Unfortunately, unless you’ve got a sailing boat moored here, you can only admire the boats from afar due to access restrictions - but still, it’s a pleasant place to wander round, and admire the Victorian/Edwardian architecture of the buildings beside it.Written 6 September 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
