What travellers are saying
- KatieTonbridge, UK20 contributionsI just want to start this off by saying that the opening scene is a 1000/10!!!!! Unfortunately the problem was it set such a high bar and it never got to that level again. There were still some great moments, clever staging and the acting was brilliant. Go and see it!Written 29 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- John DouglasLiverpool, UK76 contributionsAbsolutely love this cinema, the seats are amazing and i would recommend the brownies served at the bar in the back of the cinema. They only play one or two films per week, but its still a fantastic experience and lovely venue.Written 9 October 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Lanna9London, UK12 contributionsWent for Joker movie. The screen is huge but you must take into consideration a few things.
Seats are very close to each other, and there is tight space for legs. So if you are a very tall or very wide person, it is going to be uncomfortable or you will not even fit it.
For bigger people, one option is left is VIP seats.
If you are regular, normal size, or height, then it is fine for you.
Another thing is that it is best to buy tickets from the 5th row up or middle rows if you want to sit comfortably and would not have to lift your head all the time. View is good from all sides of the cinema, so no worries, buying side seats.Written 6 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Shaka479United Kingdom50 contributionsWe went for the showing of "When Harry met Sally" on new years eve. Very in keeping with the celebration. It would have been nice to be able to choose seats in advance and if you're short like me you need to make sure you dont have tall people in front of you or sit right in front (like we did). But overall it was a really nice experience. Staff were helpful and friendly. I would go back.Written 19 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Maite D2 contributionsNot only the fantastic display of theatre and film clothes but the dedication they have put into preparing each room dedicated to different sections of film and theatre. Best are the films and plays they offer regularly to the public in the most wonderful little theatre I have ever been. The founders of Sands are not only very dedicated but very talented. Much better than any Harry Potter studios visit, said my daughter. To me it is a magical place where time doesn't exist. Main thing is their amazing creativity, specially in the last play they have created, The good soldier Schwejk, which has been created in such a way that it could be placed in any country and anytime without loosing a single piece of interest for the spectator. It is so visual that even for someone who doesn't speak the language could be beautifulWritten 17 July 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. We recently used some of the free tickets that came with the membership - do check it out. As there were two of us we booked a sofa. Comfortable with plenty of legroom.
Access to the members bar was welcome - quieter and we got a seat which wasn’t possible in the other bars as our film was at peak evening time. You can take drinks in.
If you need to use a lift I’d suggest contacting them in advance. The one we took down from screen 3 didn’t go all the way down and we took stairs from the first floor to exit.
Not sure if it was an oversight or general policy but the lighting in the auditorium was dim from when we arrived even before trailers had started.Written 9 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Geoff2 contributionsGreat seats in screen two and three, but if you're long legged and/or have any body pains, be weary of booking screenings in screen one, very 1970s seat spacing.Written 30 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Food was fresh, good variety and we really enjoyed the film experience. Staff were helpful too.
My one ask would be, please ensure that you have desserts for customers with nut allergies. When I said that my sons had allergies, I was told that the desserts were not suitable. When I questioned this, I was then told that they could have the ice-cream.Written 25 August 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The picture and the sound is truly remarkable whilst the seats are very comfy. Of course you will pay West End prices for the admission but if you want the film to be a special experience you will not be disappointed.Written 4 February 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
