Highly recommended for history buffs! Part of the Royal Museums Greenwich, this is a gigantic warehouse of maritime-related objects that also houses a conservation group. Really enjoyed a two-hour Thursday walking tour in a small group with friendly staff guides, looking at everything from astonishing collections of paintings to Admiral Nelson's tea cups to early charts drawn on calfskin. We also chatted with conservators at work. The collection is not near the other Greenwich museums nor other tourist attractions. But getting there took only about half an hour from Victoria Station via Southeastern Railway to the Kidbrooke station, which is a few minutes' walk from the collection.
