I went to the BFI for quick meeting, having not gone there for many years. I loved the refurb which looked fresh, contemporary and inviting. We met in the bar area with drink brought from cafe area. Good spot for working as not too loud. We didn’t watch a film or use the Mediatheque but I’ve watched old movies there in the past. Like the look of the Library, the shop and lobby area. Lots of seating and tables and there is disability access and a full restaurant on the Riverside! It wasn’t possible to use the BFI WiFi but we got access to the National Theatre WiFi.

Stepping onto the campus of University College London (UCL) felt like entering a haven of academic excellence and artistic vibrancy. The institution's rich history and global reputation were palpable from the moment I arrived.

The architecture is a blend of classic and modern, with beautiful buildings and intricate sculptures that serve as a testament to UCL's commitment to both knowledge and aesthetics. The libraries are a treasure trove of information, catering to students' intellectual curiosity across various disciplines.

The academic atmosphere is thick, with numerous seminars, lectures, and workshops happening throughout the year. The professors and tutors are not only knowledgeable but also approachable, offering personalized guidance and support.

Beyond academics, UCL's campus life is vibrant and diverse. There are clubs and societies for every interest, allowing students to make friends and engage in extracurricular activities. The food options in the dining halls are diverse, catering to various palates.
I bought a railcard on trainpal and got a 20% discount when I entered the RC777E code! Hope to help those who come to the UK to play~
UCL is more than just an institution of higher learning; it's a community that fosters intellectual growth, creativity, and global understanding.

An interesting thought-provoking place next to SOAS. They have changing exhibitions - well made and very informative. The staff is very helpful. We visited the exhibition "Expelled" in its last days and learned a lot.

This building is understated and can easily be passed by. Yet it documents the development of science in Britain. Unfortunately it is now largely relegated to be a museum and the displays are traditional rather than interactive. Nevertheless if you know your history you will be impressed by the displays of early experiments by important and familiar names. There is also an interesting classic lecture theatre where many of the big names of the past and present have presented. There needs to be more modern day interpretation for youngsters to understand the significance of these discoveries.

We visited the RIBA HQ to see two exhibitions: LÁSZLÓ MOHOLY-NAGY IN BRITAIN: BETWEEN THE NEW VISION AND THE NEW BAUHAUS and BEYOND BAUHAUS - MODERNISM IN BRITAIN 1933 TO 1966. Both were very interesting and well presented. I particularly liked the Moholy-Nagy as it was set in the better gallery space. The building itself is also interesting to explore. The Cafe was good but the service rather slow. There is a small but good architectural bookshop.

Very expensive, massively uncomfortable seats, sullen and slow service. Cinema is good though, hence 3 stars and not 2!
