I first learned about the Courtauld Gallery in 2020 when I came across some virtual art talks during the pandemic. Through those talks, I learned about some of the wonderful works of art in their collection. I knew that I would have to visit the next time I made it to London! Walking into the Courtauld, I felt excited about what was to come... and I enjoyed the spiral staircase taking us up to the gallery floors. We started in the Bloomsbury Group gallery, filed with works by Vanessa Bell and Roger Fry, among others; it was a nice introduction to this group. Next up was the Impressionism gallery...the target of my visit. It was truly an honor to see some great works like The Card Players by Cezanne, Self-Portrait with Bandaged Ear by Van Gogh, A Bar at the Folies Bergère by Édouard Manet, as well as works by Monet, Degas, Gauguin, Renoir, Seurat, Morisot, and Toulouse-Lautrec. The collection includes works covering the Renaissance to the 18th century as well as Medieval and Early Renaissance paintings and decorative arts and 20th century art. A delightful way to start our stay in London!
One note: Being associated with the Courtauld Institute of Art, the Gallery invites art students and guests to sit and draw as well as hosts school field trips; that did not take away from our experience.

I love the food hall! I love the patisseries and they are always so delicious! However, I bought 5 desserts and after I got home, about 2 hours later, only 4 were in the box. Quite annoying considering they are quite expensive, despite the missing item was the cheapest. For a high end department store you expect better and it wasn't even busy. Next time I will be more attentive and check my bag before leaving but that shouldn't be my job!

I'm a big HP fan so of course I had to make a stop here on my visit to London. The store is small but it has a lot to look at. The day that I went wasn't particularly busy (It didn't hurt that it was a Wednesday at 11AM) so it was more enjoyable than the HP shop I went to while in Edinburgh. Although there are a lot of cute things I don't think there are necessarily anything that you can't find online. Again come here if you are fan and you want to be surrounded by HP memorabilia but know that most of the stuff sold here can be found online.

FYI: the books such as the potions book from the 6th movie are actualy journals and have no content inside them. It would be so cool if they could come up with some content of what would have been in these books. I would totally buy every one of them if something like that ever got released.

Great toy store for everyone. We liked the entertainment from the employees. Prices are noticeably the same than in average toy stores - high. Don't hesitate to travel the five floors of the building, there is so much to see !

Love visiting the shop and never tire of walking around.

    The architecture is beautiful.

Christmas windows were a disappointment this year :(

We visited at around 8:30pm on a Monday evening (they open until 10pm) and there was no queue, either to get in or to purchase merchandise. Everything in the store is highly overpriced, but it is a visual spectacle to see. You can take pics with giant M&M statues posed like Abbey Road, or in various other parts of the shop, which is fun. You can also do an interactive screen to find out what colour you are most like, and can do things like print your face or your message on M&Ms for a high price. There are lots of souvenirs but be prepared to pay for them. Worth it for a look if you don't have to queue.

Sloane Street comes off Sloane Square and there are a number of fancy shops along this street. The majority of these are out of most people's price range but it's nice to dream.

It's quite easy to get to from Sloane Square tube station which is served by the Circle and District lines.

Went to the iconic Daunt Books location. It's as picturesque as the internet has made it seem. However, it's got a smaller stock than I expected. It's amazing for travel books, but other genres are smaller in variety. Also got one of their iconic tote bags which made me really happy. Would recommend going once for the vibes, but I think I enjoyed Hatchards, Foyles, and Waterstones more just for the bigger variety. Definitely, the right spot if you're in the neighbourhood though, or looking for travel books, apparently they can order you things too if need be.

I came to buy props for a runway show. There are some great stalls with sellers with amazing antique wares, and a few with the normal cheap jewellery tat.

My minus point would be some of the indoor area sellers are pretty grumpy and unhelpful. Give them a miss and stay outside where there are. some great sellers with very interesting wares, are well informed and happy to help you make your purchase.

(My favourites are the two tables selling Roman jewellery and antiques!)

This is such a great idea, but equally a very clever way to make a lot of money! There was a long wait to get the photo, but it was a great photo to have. There is the option of buying the professional photo, but many were just taking photos on their phones. As expected, the shop is very expensive, but has a great range.

I have been to Twinings on The Strand many times over the years when visiting London. This last visit was the best! The staff were so helpful and friendly. They brewed tea for me (in addition to the tea already available) so I could try before buying. Everyone was so nice. Twinings is my favorite brand of tea. The different blends are fantastic! The tea is so refreshing. Of course, Their Earl Grey is iconic and still my #1 favorite of all time. I ended up buying more than intended, but it was worth it!

My partner wanted to buy my engagement ring from Hatton Garden so we set out to research where to visit ahead of going.

I reached out to a number of shops regarding having a bespoke ring made and we went along to our appointments.
Each shop we visited felt like we were being over sold to (think cheesy car sales).

The rings we were shown we nice but we just felt that there was nothing particularly special about any of them.

Our last stop was to meet Vince at Hatton Garden Jewellers. I had read all the reviews and done research on HGJ so knew what to expect. There was no shop front and we were buzzed up to the workshop which was far more relaxing for us in that environment!

Vince was great, he is a mastor of what he does and has a great team working with him. Vince took on our instruction along with our budget and gave us a number of options, we immediately knew we wanted to choose Vince to create the ring. We made a number of follow up appointments to choose our stones, we were talked through the quality v price and learnt alot in our visit.

Vince takes so much pride in his work and will make sure you are 100% happy with your jewellery. We are already looking forward to returning for our wedding bands! Thank you Vince!

The Cyber Dog store is a haven for sci-fi and cyberpunk enthusiasts! Walking in feels like stepping into a futuristic world, with neon lights and pulsing techno music. The clothing is like something straight out of a sci-fi movie, with vibrant colors, metallic fabrics, and cool, tech-inspired accessories. It's a bit pricey, but the quality and uniqueness of the designs make it worth it. The staff are super friendly and just as into the cyber aesthetic, which makes the experience even more fun. If you love geeky, futuristic fashion, Cyber Dog is definitely the place to check out.

Here you can find anything from cute Pusheen coloring books to rare comics! I am sad I didn’t get to buy anything from there, I was just in awe of everything that was there.
