Fabulous art gallery, don't know why I've not been before.
I took a bus that stopped right in front of Somerset House, walked through this beautiful complex and enjoyed free entry to the permanent exhibition using my National Art Pass.
The building is stunning, the art works are amazing, the explanation boards are well written and informative - letting you know the history behind the paintings and the building.
I was motivated to go for the Impressionism but all the art was superb, I often skip by the early religious pieces but the ones here are exquisite.

Christmas shop was great loved the lay out. Tasters were great particularly the lady on walkers shortbread and the Selfridge tea. The Selfridge tea lady was really friendly and helpful and I bought the tea because of her! Shop was very crowded but I guess that is inevitable.

There is a great selection of toys which make it exciting for kids, some prices of things are expensive some are surprisingly reasonable. The lifts are terrible if you have a buggy you will be very frustrated and wait for a long time, people there are also very selfish, many people not needing a lift will take them instead of the escalators. We enjoyed walking around and seeing different toys you don't see everywhere, we would however go again when its not so busy. Either early when it opens or at a different time of year.

Overall we had a nice time in the shop and it was a novelty to go in. There was a large queue outside but it did move fairly quickly. Once inside it is everything you would expect, M&M products of everything you can imagine. From novelty M&M filled figures to pet items and pjs. The shop is a little expensive but if you choose to go in then you know you will buy something so it’s not a surprise. The shop is very big and over multiple floors however there is only one very small lift. The M&M wall is very busy but again we expected this to be the case. The staff were friendly and did have interactions with were helpful however there did seem to be a lot of staff just added items to already full shelves. Overall a good experience but be prepared to spend money but after all that’s why you went it.

We love Harry Potter. We were excited to come to King's Cross Station one day to see Platform 9 3/4 (we did not wait in line to take a photo at the wall. I took a photo of just the wall without us in it). The store is very cool. We got a couple great souveniers.

I came to buy props for a runway show. There are some great stalls with sellers with amazing antique wares, and a few with the normal cheap jewellery tat.

My minus point would be some of the indoor area sellers are pretty grumpy and unhelpful. Give them a miss and stay outside where there are. some great sellers with very interesting wares, are well informed and happy to help you make your purchase.

(My favourites are the two tables selling Roman jewellery and antiques!)

Busy but huge store to fulfil all your clothing needs. Only issue we faced there was a long queue at the check out and staff wasn't this friendly and didn't apologise for the length of wait.

Sloane Street comes off Sloane Square and there are a number of fancy shops along this street. The majority of these are out of most people's price range but it's nice to dream.

It's quite easy to get to from Sloane Square tube station which is served by the Circle and District lines.

The best!! I love seeking out bookstores everywhere I travel but have yet to find any that compare. The organization by location is just brilliant; I could (and often do) spend hours here browsing and always bring home more than I planned.

Tea lovers, take note: the Twinings flagship store in London is worth a trip. This is the place in town to find every flavor and type of Twinings teas. It's surprisingly small, but is stuffed to the gills with all sorts of tea bags, loose tea, accessories, and gifts. This is a great place to go if you want a fun souvenir of your trip to London (or if you want to take something that will be appreciated by the folks back home).

This flagship store is over 300 years old, making it the oldest tea shop in London! It's very pretty and photogenic. The employees are super helpful too, and eager to guide you towards items they think you might like.

I'm normally a loose leaf tea drinker and prefer to brew my own, but one of the coolest features at this shop is the Pick & Mix wall. You can create a personalized selection of individual tea bags (a make-your-own sampler box, if you will). Twinings has so many options, and their tea envelopes feature art that's pretty as well.

I came home with a couple of loose leaf tins as well as four boxes of their Spiced Apple and Vanilla Superblend Sleepytime Tea, which I became absolutely obsessed with on my Virgin Atlantic flight across the pond. I looked all over town for it, but I made the trek to the Twinings store because I knew they'd have it (and they did). This is THE place if you are searching for a particular or hard-to-find Twinings tea.

There's a tea sampling bar in the back, where they usually have three or four different varieties for you to try. I visited during the holiday season, so I was able to taste a couple of Christmas teas which were excellent.

The closest tube station is Temple (on the District and Circle lines). It's a short walk, but you have to go up a very steep hill so be aware.

I am fascinated by the WWII period in Britain, especially rationing and life on the home front. Being used to American bookstores, I expected to be greeted with "you want what???". Instead a very helpful young man directed me to two huge sections of books about life in Britain during WWII, and suggested some other parts of the store that might have good reading as well. I spent three hours deciding how many books my suitcase would hold, and he recommended ordering the others off their website because shipping was less than ordering in store. I have lauded Foyle's to everyone I know!

My family and I had a stroll last night to see the city lights of London when we passed by into this store and the salesman offered us a sample of cream in sachet then invited us inside the store. Showed us some demonstrations and tried on us the products they sell like the nail kit, body scrub, cream ,face and eye care .I should say the salesman was good 'coz he persuaded me to buy stuffs which I do not think I will buy on a second thought. To be fair, although it is quite pricey ,I like the scrub and cream which I bought for ÂŁ90 with a free nail kit.
