Tables never cleaned during 2 hours whilst seated at front.Written 29 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Hannah Leigh WoodLondon, UK50 contributionsWe arrived at the address and to my amazement what seemed to be somebody’s front door.
Behind this door was one of the best experiences I’ve had in London.
The staff were attentive.
The New Zealand Sauvignon was full bodied.
But most importantly the jazz was effervescent, soothing and energising.
Drinks ranged from around ÂŁ6-ÂŁ15.
3 types of ticket (we had the music ticket) which meant we were right next to the musicians.
This really was an evening that took me back in time.Written 1 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. The Crazy Coqs usually offers 2 shows a night, 7pm and 9.15pm. The doors open around 30 -40 mins before the show, which tends to last around 80 minutes. There is table service for drinks and nibbles. The art deco space resembling a cruise ship lounge is beautiful. Seating is mainly bistro chair/tables in the centre and round the stage, with some banquette seating around the walls. There is a varied programme of music, comedy and cabaret, and shows are excellent value. We had a fabulous night. Reelin' in the Dan were really good and played 15 mins over their time, feeding from the appreciation of the audience, I think. We'll be back.Written 21 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- pilot6576 contributionsVisited here this week - interesting basement layout - about half the size of Ronnies if people want a comparison - the membership - music cost - alcohol is a bit of a thing but not an issue if yr eating - food is ok - bear in mind this isn’t a restaurant it’s a jazz venue - good intimate music vive - - the rear bar is a good idea to keep talkative drinkers out of the way - suggest don’t get stuck on a cane chair really uncomfortable - arrival reception was a bit brusque but ok - I think they maybe defensive of those who arnt Jazz fans - clientele is varied and I’d say more officiando than the show offs who talk through performances at RONNIES - so well worth a visit def go againWritten 2 March 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - hollystalkerChelmsford, UK38 contributionsWe went to this little club to see a Pink Floyd tribute band, On The Run, who were amazingly as near to Pink Floyd as you could get. It was a friendly place with a comfortable vibe. As a 75 year old female I didn’t feel out of place!Written 1 April 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - JCHodgesLondon, UK59 contributionsMy first visit and it won’t be the last, to this end of month event organised by Rose, who’s very friendly and welcoming. There are various DJ’s playing an eclectic mix of Soul, House, R&B & reggae to an eclectic mix of people. Good vibe, friendly people and great music, well worth a place saver in your diary.Written 24 February 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - PUMBRIDGELondon, UK2,360 contributionsPOSK, the Polish centre in Hammersmith, has been in existence for half a century - set up as a cultural and social centre for earlier waves of migrants from Poland.
But it has blossomed into a centre in its own right, boasts a theatre and - down the stairs - an atmospheric jazz basement.
Friendly and sociable, it's well worth trying.Written 1 December 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. For me, I'd have liked more of the music and less audience participation.Written 13 October 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - AnaPiussiLondon, UK1,712 contributionsIt was my first time at this place today (18 March) and I really enjoyed. I called one day before and got a table in front of the stand.. maybe a table in the back would had been better. Definitely I will ask for it next time. The venue looks like that very underground places you find around London. A small door that takes you to a basement and there a tiny bar but an open area where a band will play.
Pretty cool indeed. We saw a quartet. Great music. I am aware there are shows almost every evening and they allow the students from Greenwich university to play as well. U can take ur own food to the place.. I saw a couple that brought cupcakes but I am not sure if people will really take food there. It is ÂŁ10 cash to enter. But the bar you can pay with card. I would just had enjoyed more if they serve cocktails. Jazz and cocktails are perfect match. But definitely I will come back.Written 18 March 2023This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Nicholas HLondon, UK20,275 contributionsCame here for a special jazz gig marking the 60th anniversary of the nearby Ronnie Scott's jazz club. They had turned this little basement club into a replica of the original Ronnie Scott's venue for a series of special re-enactments of spome of the earliest sessions at Ronnie's. This club is absolutely typical of how Soho drinking dens used to be in the 1950s and 1960s, with a tiny bar and a limited amount of space for people to stand or sit and socialise. Strictly speaking it's a private members club for actors, but if you chat up the wonderful proprietor, Michael Dillon, or the bar staff it usually isn't a problem. The club is also available for hire for birthday parties, book launches and other functions. There's live music most Wednesday evenings. This a real piece of Soho history and evry well worth experiencing.Written 25 August 2019This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
