A brilliant story of WW2 Ramsgate. We had two guides who were so enthusiastic about the history that they bought it to life. You, actually could picture yourself in the tunnels in the war. They even made a feature of the urban history from the young people who went down there during the 80’s and 90’s, the writing on the walls told the story.
They had a 92 year old lady on one of their tours, she was able to point out parts and experiences of her time in the tunnels. Highly recommend it but make sure you have comfy shoes and a jumper to keep you warm.

Really wonderful museum with a huge catalog of games to try out, could easily spend a few hours here. Definitely a trip down nostalgia lane. The owners were very accommodating and kind!

Lovely clean sandy beach . Lovely sunny day . Lots of families have a typical day on the beach - great to see. We walked along the beach back to Dumpton gap . Please note that if the tide is in - you will need to take the steps up to the cliff top. Lovely views & worth it . Not easy steps though. Definitely worth another visit . I think i would like to visit in the winter too .

Had the opportunity to view this wonderful gem of a house and the first impressions were that it was so homely and timeless.

What an amazing person Augustus Pugin was; his creativity was fantastic and I am so glad that we were able to walk in his footsteps.

This church had several displays about the maritime history of Ramsgate. A small building but well worth a quick visit.

A lovely peaceful experience. Very historical place.
Visitors can buy in the small shop, visit a tea room and attend services.
There is a guided tour in the afternoon.

We found this little gem by chance , it is a wonderful church but made so much more interesting by the lovely Hunter who told us the history. He made it come alive and made it a lovely visit. We went into Ramsgate and on our return wanted to pop in and thank Hunter we bought him a cake as a thank you but unfortunately it was closed so had to eat it ourselves. Maybe next time .

We visited the nature reserve whilst on a trip to Pegwell Bay. The Pegwell Bay area looks out from a stretch of grassed land overlooking the sea and is a nice area for a walk or recreational purposes. There is a good amount of (free) car parking here, a café and public toilets. Also here the visitors will find the Viking Ship ‘Hugin’ a recreation of a 9th century Danish oared ship.
After some refreshments from the café, we took a walk along the coast passing the remains of the former hovercraft terminal on the sands below and onto the shallows which make an ideal feeding ground for wading birds.
Whilst taking the walk, the visitor can enjoy fine views over the sea and almost back into Ramsgate harbour which is just behind the curved headland.

This is a good place where you can admire work by a range of local artists and also make a purchase. There are some excellent affordable greetings cards which I would recommend in place of the mass-produced items on sale at WH Smiths or other such outlets.
