What a lovely little Museum - great Victorian - era taxidermy- including a Platypus - through to a beautiful little courtyard garden that showcases a 1577 garden design.
The museum provided a nice history of the market town, with many fascinating displays detailing the various periods of the towns development.

Always enjoy the smaller museums that tend to show the local history and how it ties into national or world history.
As local museums go this really is very good.

The large sculptures are amazing but I liked visiting the museums there looking at the smaller items by Henry Moore and other famous artists.
Many years ago I began my professional life not too far from the museum and in my fitter days would sometimes run by it but had never ventured in.

... so informative and interesting with such beautiful grounds and history, the slime making, the lantern making, the walk around the grounds and museums and of course the main arena for all the shows and fireworks!
The boys dressed up in Victorian costumes, rode on some crazy cars and enjoyed going round an excellent interactive museum.
