What travellers are saying
- SarahSouthampton, UK5 contributionsI recently took my two boys here, and it was such a brilliant trip down memory lane! We used to visit here all the time when they were younger, and I was pleasantly surprised by how much we all enjoyed it again, even now that they’re not so little anymore. The exhibits are still as engaging as I remember, with plenty to spark curiosity in all of us. It was wonderful to see how the museum has evolved while still holding on to that fun, educational charm. Highly recommend it for anyone, no matter their age! A perfect day out.Written 14 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Tripadvisor performs checks on reviews.
- Sven ÖVästerås, Sweden512 contributionsI'm not a Titanic buff, but i found the museum very interesting when it explained very much about the Titanic. The other parts of the museum I didn't spend as much time in, but the Titanic story itself is well worth a visit. That doesn't mean the rest of the museum isn't worth it, but I didn't have more time.Written 4 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - WiltshirewallHighworth, UK338 contributionsFirstly, Red Funnel Ferries are our preferred method of travelling to the Isle of Wight. My wife has mobility issues, meaning that we have to request authority to stay with our vehicle throughout the crossing. It also means that we need to use the disabled facilities at both Southampton and East Cowes terminals, which are very clean and well maintained. All the customer service staff we dealt with pre-travel were excellent and the staff we encountered on both crossings were also very good. My only gripe, although no doubt made for safety reasons, is that staying with our vehicle does not offer us the same views as open to able bodied passengers.Written 17 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - James P55 contributionsI was there as part of the sea cadets and it was a very interesting experience to go and see the places a typical passenger would be unable to view. We did not sail however I believe it would be pleasant sailing onboard.Written 15 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - MillieWorld65 contributionsWest Quay shopping mall is great for all owing to the variety of shops (both designer and highstreet ranging from Zara to Flannels). With two floors of shops and a third floor allocated to a variety of restaurants (inclduing Pizza Express and Nandos), West Quay is a good location for a day out shopping.
There is lifts, stairs and escalators inside the mall allowing everyone ro access all the amenities.
The toilets, located on the third and ground floor, are clean and accesible.
Regarding parking, there is a multi-story that takes you straight into the shopping centre via stairs, escalator and lifts. There is also a flatbed car park which is only a 30 second walk away from the mall's entrance.
However, the parking is VERY expensive.
Notably, there is also a street full of shops inlcuding Primark and Urban Outfitters upon exiting the mall at ground level.
There is also a cinema and an arcade. What is more, IKEA is only a five minute (if that) walk away and the mall overlooks Southampton port.
Overall, I would reccomend this shopping cnetre owing to its accessibility and range of shops and restaurants.Written 20 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Slope is a bit tired and tatty in places but definitely kept the kids smiling, well priced also.
Parking is a nightmare however- updates are needed on online maps, really eats into your day if you get your parking wrongWritten 3 February 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Super efficient hospitality staff, excellent seats and a fine view of the game, our host (Mark Dennis) was great he lifted the audience with his passion and commitment to the cause in a desperate season (that's 6 home losses in a row).
One downside, the food is rubbish, suggest visitors bring their own doggy bag or a packet of biscuits, get that right Saints and you will have an unbeatable entertainment package.Written 27 January 2025This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. Not really an "escape" room, but a series of clues you have to decipher to discover who has been sabotaging the Brickworks.
A really good host who stayed in period character the whole time, a well constructed series of clues that were fun for kids (aged 7 & 10) as well as adults, with some nice surprises along the way. Would definitely recommend.Written 5 November 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
