Thoroughly entertaining evening at this quant bar/theatre just round the corner from the Bristol Hippodrome. Actually it would be a good place to pop in for a pre theatre drink.
    -
Above us, candles appear to float in mid air beneath a ceiling peppered with playing cards.
    -
Our sell out magic evening kicked off in the bar with some close up magic. Can't say much without spoiling it for others but the masterly combination of misdirection and sleight of hand produced some wonderful surprises, which kept us talking all the way home.
    -
We were then led into the small (60 seat) theatre where two more magicians wowed the audience with sharp banter, hilarious trickery and a lot of audience participation.
    -
We had pre-booked pizzas for the interval, several very tasty options to chose from and GF bases available. Bear in mind they are only 9 inch pizzas. Best to eat earlier but save some room for the pizza.
    -
Our whole weekend in Bristol was planned around a visit to Smoke & Mirrors. We were not disappointed.
    -
    Until next time...

The Bristol Ferry is a great way to spend an hour or two , and to understand the river and harbour sides that made Bristol into Englands major west coast port , at least until the mid to late 19th century. You get excellent views of the city , of hill climbing Georgian terraces , historic ships and industrial architecture , most of which is now rehabilitated. It’s good value , and you can jump on in the city centre at the bottom of Park St , at Cascade Steps outside No 1 Harbourside . It’s worth doing the full round trip if time permits . The Ferry is run as a social enterprise , well worth supporting

We walked through Brandon Hill Park to Cabot Tower during the morning hours as some of the walk includes steep inclines. One can either go up steps to the Entrance of the Tower or go along a Footpath which is easier.

There are a little more than 100 steps to get to the top of Cabot Tower, but below the
very top there are small balconies on each side of the tower from where one can
enjoy splendid panoramic Views across Bristol and surrounding Countryside.

The walk through Brandon Hill Park is very interesting as there are numerous plants and trees to be admired, with a few small ponds breaking up the landscape.

    Well worth a Visit!

Had a few hours to kill before a flight home so decided to head into Bristol to see what was available. From Temple meads station, the No.8 bus drops you off at the Museum Door.
Free entry, the museum easily passed a few hours. Lots to see, from Dinosaurs, Crystals, mummy's and modern art, Something for everybody to see. Nice gift shop and coffee shop to sit and watch the world go by.
Well worth a visit but please leave a donation, as this is how the survive!

This is my second visit to Oakham Treasures. I absolutely love this place. So much to take in. Great layout. Very user friendly for everyone. Staff can’t do enough for you. The cafe is well staffed and serves super fresh food. There’s even an outside seating area. Highly recommend. I will be back.

We visited the M Shed Museum as we wanted to learn about the City's History.

The Museum has many interesting Exhibits/Displays located on two floors which provide plenty of information for the Visitor.

The Top Floor incorporates a Roof Terrace which offers splendid Views across Bristol Harbourside, not to be missed!

On the Ground Floor is a small Cafe with friendly and helpful staff, providing indoor seating for refreshments.

This huge gothic church is far more impressive than Bristol cathedral. The long nave seems to stretch up to the heavens and the side chapels too are interesting. Lots of photos to be taken here and its only a five minute walk from Temple Mead station and a further five minute walk through wonderful eighteenth century square to the centre of town.

We the Curious is currently closed due to a fire. However, my 4 year old son and I noticed there was an activity on outside the museum. For completely free of charge my son spent 90 minutes building objects out of straws and connectors. The staff were all so engaging, kind and enthusiastic. Based on this lovely experience which I would like to say a big thank you for, we can't wait to visit when the museum re opens😃.

We did the 13.30 Saturday Group Tour which was led by Alex. She was an excellent & very knowledgeable guide. We had a very informative & interesting 90 mins walk around various parts of the Cemetery. We had never been before but will return for a casual stroll. We took our dog along & finished the afternoon with cake & tea in their cafe.
