I headed to Katra via the Vande Bharat Express on Sep 21st. I arrived at Katra at 2 PM and then proceeded to get my RFID tag at the station itself (very convenient). The RFID is valid for 6 hours (so you have to cross Ban Ganga check-post within 6 hours, although I don't see how they check that as the RFID does not have a time stamp on it and no one checked the RFID tag at Ban Ganga). I then checked in to Ramada and took a nap for a couple of hours. At 7 PM, I woke up, took a shower and asked the hotel to drop me off at Ban Ganga. I arrived at the check-post at exactly 8 PM at which time I began my Yatra. I always try and start my yatra around this time as I find fewer crowds with hardly any wait times for darshan.

It took me 1.5 hours to reach Ardhkuwari (I am a fast hiker as I hike a lot) and I spent around 15 to 20 minutes grabbing a late dinner at Sagar Ratna. I resumed my yatra around 9:45 pm and arrived at Bhawan at 11 pm. I got my bhaint near locker 1 and then proceeded to locker 2 to stow my bagpack, phone and belt. I proceeded to Gate No. 5 for the darshan and had no wait time. I finished my darshan in 10 minutes and was back at my locker by 11:30 pm. I again had a coffee and a dosa at Sagar Ratna at Bhawan.

Around midnight, I proceeded my yatra to Bhairon Mandir - it took me around a half hour to reach there. Darshan was fast and I was able to get some vibhooti. At 1 AM I started my hike back to Ban Ganga and Katra. It took me 2.5 hours to reach Ban Ganga (around 3:20 AM). The last 2 km were pretty tough as I developed blisters (please make sure you wear two socks - a toe sock and then a regular sock over that to avoid chafing and blisters. Or you could just put a bandage or athlete's tape over your feet and then put socks over that to avoid chafing).

All in all, great darshan and a wonderful yatra. I highly recommend starting your yatra around 8 PM to avoid the sun and also encounter fewer crowds.

    Jai Mata Di.

Everything is perfect at this place despite millions of visitors and pilgrim, it's very neat and clean, the shrine board is really working day and night to make it more and more perfect all the time - even CEO was on the tour on the feet when we visited and i was really impressed with dedication and commitment of the team. It was like military work - highly discipline ant that too with only civilian work force. God bless them.

We Reached Patni Top on 5 th March late afternoon. We were staying at Skyview hotel
And took the Gondola ride up .Our Taxi took us to Natha Top as we wanted to be in ice .
In the main stop there was ice but our guide took us about 15 min further ahead to a hill where there was ice through out ..
The guides are alloted by number system of their Union and everything is systematic

.Tea..Maggie and boiled eggs were available.
Our Guide helped us climb till the top.of the hill and brought us down by sledge and we had a good time.

Would suggest taking ice coat and gumboots from the shops on the way for choice and size .

Had been to this fort a long back ago. This fort has huge walls and a garden located close to it.

This fort houses a temple dedicated to Goddess Kali and is visited by devotees. Entry to the fort is prohibited. Photography is allowed outside the fort. Near the fort, views of the Tawi river as well as the garden can be seen. Beware of monkeys roaming around in the vicinity.

This place is good for families and friends. It is a must visit place while in Jammu.

    Jai Bhairo Baba Ki

Without Bhairo Baba Dharshan your Maa Vaishno Devi yatra will not be complete. Must vist to complete your yatra. After maa dharshan you must take blessing from Bhairo Baba. Now from Bhawan to Bhairo Baba there is rope way. if you cannot walk then take rope way to reach Bhairo Baba.

Must visit place to complete your yatra with blessing of Bhairo Baba also.

There are many activities at this place like boating in lake, zipliner , paragliding, horse riding. If you are not opting horse riding you have to trek around 500 m to reach to lake. You can easily spent 2.5-4 hours at this place. During sunny day carry sunglasses. Charges for boating Rs. 600, zipliner Rs. 500 and paragliding Rs. 1200

We reached Raghunath Temple after waging an almost losing battle with the congested streets of Raghunath Bazaar. Our driver gave us a fraction of a second to hop out of the vehicle before heading towards the parking lot abour 400 meters. We deposited our footwear and mobile phones at the counter just outside the temple, underwent the mandatory covid test and security check up before squeezing into the temple.

The view that welcomed us was an antithesis to the crowded space outside the temple premises. With huge open gardens and massive shikaras housing every possible Hindu God and Goddess, it is no wonder this marvel built between 1830 and 1850 by Maharaja Gulab Singh and later embellished by his lineage ranks among the most massive and popular temples of India.

The sanctum sanctorum houses life size statues of Lord Ram, Sita Devi and Lakshmana. There are also smaller temples for the ten avatars of Lord Vishnu, Lord Hanuman, Shani Bhagwan and Mata Vaishno Devi. A distinguishing feature of all temples in Jammu is the reverence offered to Lord Shiva. Irrespective of a temple's presiding deity every temple houses within its precincts a sanctom for Lord shiva either in the deity or Linga form. A massive Shiva Linga is located inside the Raghunath Temple with a huge portrait of Maharaja Gulab Singh opposite the Linga.

Another noticeable feature is the arched gate ways reminiscent of Mughal architecture. Even a casual visit to the temple should be allotted an hour's time to take in the full splendor of the place. The night time view of the temple with its shikaras all lighted up which I could not get to experience is also a must see thing.

A 2.5 hour drive from katra to a village then 3 kms walk or a ride on a horse back to main shiv khori cave. There are 2 ways to enter the temple but the old way is simply unbelievably thrilling experience. It's a narrow, very narrow natural cave where you need to walk with a torch in hand.
