Wow. What a fantastic little place. We were driving by on a Monday (note Google says it’s closed on a Monday) heading to to Rideau Canal locks and saw that the museum was open. Some great engines and carriages that you can get up Close and Personal with. The Dental car was really cool. Well curated, and loads better than we thought it was going to be. Definitely worth a visit. Hannah on Reception was superb. Nice quirky gift shop.

Our ride last week confirmed that you can ride from downtown Ottawa to downtown Kingston entirely by pathway (save for 1km in Smiths Falls). 191kms, almost no elevation change, scenic, a number of historic points of interest, lots of places to stay or camp.

More than a magic show, it was a wonderful evening of entertainment with a mystery story, music, dance & illusions. Saw it in Smith Falls but you can catch it at various summer theaters in Eastern Ontario this summer.

We were time pressed (only 30 minutes) and wish we had a bit more time. It was very good. As advertised, we got to see the two-tiered privy.

I loved that the community donated all of the old items (not to mention the stories for some of the key items). They even let us try out the “old school” projector (Which they sanitized between us - much appreciated).

    Our host was very knowledge.

I also picked up some nice cards from their little “gift shop”.

    I recommend it.

Lower Reach is the meeting place for a great many functions. Soccer, baseball, softball, Pipe Bands, Exotic Bird shows, all the town’s fire works along with the Smiths Falls Fair. There are plenty of solid play structures, Splash Pad for the kiddies and a canteen on site. The park is well maintained for this purpose. There is always something happening at Lower Reach. The park is free to get into although the attractions may cost a bit. Don't forget your fishing rod!

Very nice craft brewery where a flight selection was served my Larry at the bar. He took the time to start the pinball machine for my grandkids.

Victoria Park might not be an attraction of choice while in Smiths Falls but, following the death of our father, my sister and I were notified that Branch 95 of the Royal Canadian Legion was placing a stone in memory of Dad in the memory walk. We had to make a trip to see the stone. The park is alongside the Rideau River and Smiths Falls Marina and Camp Grounds downtown. It features a bright yellow WWI fighter plane (the "Yellow Peril") and memorial stones commemorating those lost in that war. New to the park is the memory walk ... a pavement walkway through the park along the sides of which foot stones have been installed in memory or honour of citizens of Smiths Falls. In addition to my Dad's stone, we saw those of other family members, friends, my high school vice-principal and so many others. It was a touching gesture by the Legion to place a stone in honour of our Dad. It's another place, other than the cemetery, where we can go to remember Dad. In the summer (better weather) there is a wading pool and play structure for kids. It's not a place you'd spend more than 30 - 45 minutes in but I recommend it.

This place is basically a flee market style of shop. It's good for people starting out & need things like dishes. Really cheap used items. The people there are friendly & if you search, somethings you can find little Jems.
