A really enjoyable full day visiting the Hobbiton Movie Set (very highly recommended ) and the glowworm caves which is very relaxing. Despite the weather, Danny kept us all entertained throughout the drive with a lot of movie buff knowledge and facts about NZ along the way. Thanks Danny also for the recommendations of other things to do in Auckland!

Our wine tour on Waiheke Island was an exciting event due to the rain throughout the day, but full of warm and friendly people, plus some amazing wines.

After Glenn picked us up at the Ferry Station we got to tour a bit around the island. He shared some facts and showed us some of the popular spots.

Then we headed to our first tasting at Casita Miro, which is a beautiful property that is adorned in mosaics and art, similar to Barcelona. Sophie walked us through our tasting and told us all about the wine and the story of the vineyard. Everything was beyond exceptional and the freshly baked focaccia with the olive oil and paprika oil were a standout!

Then we headed up to Batch winery, which had some gorgeous views (even on a rainy day) and tasted four wines. It was a bit less charming here, feeling a bit more commercial, but still lovely.

Our final stop was a tasting at Mudbrick. The vineyard, restaurant, and overall property were gorgeous and our tasting was made even better by the conversation we shared with the staff throughout. Due to the rain we did have our tasting up at the counter, but I can imagine the warmer weather would allow for more flexibility and views.

Glenn booked us a reservation at Fenice for a late lunch, where we enjoyed some freshly made pasta and wines!

We got dropped back off at the Ferry Station and caught the 4:00 ferry back to Auckland.

This tour was an easy way to explore the island and try some local wines. It was also a bonus that all the vineyards participate in Wine Collective, which allowed us to order wines from different vineyards to be shipped home!

John was a champ driving us through the rain out of Auckland into the beautiful countryside to see the glow worms at Waitomo and the Māori crafts and geysers and kiwis at Te Puia in Rotorua, among several other beautiful stops. He kept us entertained with fun facts and laughing with his own brand of "cheeky Kiwi" humour. Well worth the long drive, even timed us right to meet up with members of our group on the Hobbiton tour at Rotorua! Highly recommend Cheeky Kiwi tours and John in particular!

Grant was a superb guide. He was kind, considerate, friendly, funny, and incredibly knowledgeable. He took a group of strangers and built a sense of camaraderie amongst them.

The tour of hobbiton itself was nothing short of magic. Even on a rainy and dreary day, it was beyond any and all expectations.

My original tour was supposed to include rotorua, but in the off-season, did not have enough people booked. Cheeky Kiwi contacted me very early to let me know, offered any and all options, and refunded the difference for the hobbiton only tour. The communication and support were above and beyond expectations.

    10/10 would recommend!!

This half day tour with Michael Silvey covers very interesting areas and provides lots of helpful information. His commentary adds a great deal to the experience. I’m so happy I took this tour. Michael is a gem in Auckland.

This was the most magical day! Our driver Wayne (the BEST!) picked me and my partner in Auckland, and I have to say, having such a great person with us all day made a difference! As for the tour: For the Lord of the Rings fans, this is pure heaven. Make sure to include the lunch option at the Green Dragon Inn, it's so worth the money. I wish we could spend the entire day there, there is so much to see and explore. Best day ever!

This tour was an absolutely wonderful experience! I appreciated the slower pace of getting to explore different areas of Rotorua (geothermal spots, stunning lake overlooks, redwood forest) in the morning. The buffet lunch was really lovely with nice food that I don't think you could get except in the nicest restaurants. The afternoon activities were by far my favorite, with the Māori cultural show and the grounds tour. The cultural show included beautiful singing and dancing with brief explanations of the meanings of the various elements, which made it so memorable. And the grounds tour was also great. We saw hot mud springs, exploding geysers and Kiwi birds. One of my favorite elements was seeing the school and watching the students and tutors carve wood/stone and weave baskets. The cultural elements made for an experience that you literally could not get anywhere but in New Zealand. And I must end by sharing how incredible our tour guide Pete was! He was very lovely to talk to and answered all of our questions, definitely not relying on a script. It was so meaningful to have a guide of Māori descent to give us further insight into this beautiful country. He even told us a beautiful Māori legend on the drive home, and I truly feel so lucky and privileged that he shared it with us. This tour was one I will not forget, and I would highly recommend it!

We had a great time on this wine tour! Grant is a knowledgeable local guide that brought us to some beautiful wineries away from the crowds while also giving us a tour of the island along the way. Grant runs this himself so it was also nice to support a local tour guide.

“Grant” our tour guide is very friendly , funny and handsome. ☺️and accommodating took us a different winery plus his knowledge and his passion about waiheke island..great wine tasting experience, Im in love ❤️ with Stoneridge & Mudbrick vineyard, all the 3 different wineries are unique and absolutely amazing 🤩 and the lunch included in our package tour ..took us to the “THREE SEVEN TWO” restaurant which is great and top notch “food incredibly delicious 😋 “ and staff are friendly too 👌
Highly recommended this tour “ we booked this tour thru “Viator” which we got a tremendous deal.., moreover the Waiheke Wine tour did a very good job , follow up emails regarding our booking and “Grant” was on time on receiving and reply Messages. Although the time looks short but it was a well on 5 hour tour. He was worried for us at the end reaching our trip back to the ferry pier because if you are late for a ferry, you will need to wait for an hour to catch the next ferry out. I would really recommend his services and accompany because of his joyful and welcoming characteristics that brings you a homely environment..
Highly recommended 🫶🏻👍🏻👍🏻 MUST DO while in Auckland !
    Memorable holidays in Auckland!
Thanks Grant we had fun 🤩
