Love this place, one of the classic spots I use to visit when I was growing up, so neat to be there again, just a shame you can't drive to the top.

Lovely memorial undergoing some improvements around it. In the beautiful island easily accessed from Auckland by ferry. Worth a visit

It is only a viewpoint in a nice neighbourhood. I wish we could see the bridge from there also, but it was a lovely view.

We arrived at closing timing, but the volunteers there, opened up for us and we had a great hour walking around with our own personal guide. It’s quirky, loads of local stuff a church they moved down the hill. Go and visit it for an hour.

They generally get 20 visitors a day

Our tour guide was the tour operator. I can’t remember her name, but she did a great job with everything. She helped me feel comfortable riding the segway before we departed. I felt very safe.

After trying some of their chocolate where I was staying I went to their shop in Devonport. Beautiful handmade chocolate...something for all tastes. Liked that you can make up your own gift boxes.

I was given a perfume workshop for my birthday - what a treat! I’ve always had a love of perfume but this was an experience I’ll treasure for a years to come, in fact it was so good I did a second! So many divine notes to choose from and under the teams’ expert care you’re guided to create a totally unique fragrance which come in a gorgeous bottle. Fabulous day, lovely company and I smell sensational! :)

We had a blast on the Elf on our visit to Davenport last week!! We originally planned on renting bicycles for me, my husband, and 4 yr old daughter; however, decided on the ELF since it looked fun.... and it was!!! We also got a lot of laughs from people as we passed by. Definitely recommend it. 2 hours was perfect time for us to see the island, a volcano, and decide where we wanted to spend the rest of the day!!!

We recently visited Devonport for our second visit to this town. After browsing the main street looking for local artist (did not locate any on this visit), found this little gem. The coffee was up to the standard that you would expect in NZ, smooth, creamy, consistent and of a high standard. The café has internal seating, warm and welcoming, great for buying local beans and coffee accessories. Highly recommended for a great coffee.

We bought our tickets at the ferry terminal in Auckland. You get on ferry to Devonport, then onto a small bus that is waiting at end of pier in Devonport. The driver used to live in Devonport, but now has a smallholding; but was a proud 'local'. His commentary was informative with both history and anecdotes. The 45 minute tour included visits to North Head & Mt Victoria where there is a marvellous view of the Auckland skyline - both extinct volcanos; and an old tunnel system. Enjoyed the tour, but thought it a bit expensive. 4 Americans joined the tour as we were about to leave and they had not pre-booked, but disappointingly given a much cheaper rate paying cash than those of us who had prepaid.
