Rab is an enchanting destination, and this place has captured my heart. The scenery is absolutely breathtaking. However, I learned the hard way that the stairs can be a bit narrow, so it's essential to wear appropriate footwear – unlike my choice of flip-flops and a long dress.

The worker there was incredibly friendly and accommodating, making the experience even more enjoyable with their warm and welcoming demeanor.

Our cruise ship dropped anchor and pulled it up all too quickly. Between the hours of 8 a.m. and 5 p.m., there really wasn't a whole lot of time on Rab Island (one needs to que up for the tenders and be sure to return before the ship sails).

On our end of (cruise regulated) things, we so love a walk in the park and this heavenly 20+ acre piece of paradise was perfection. It borders the Old Town and rises up so that the magnificent water views that we peeked at between the trees was the stuff memories are made of.

Along the way, we saw the bust of Justus Belia who had the vision to create this oasis from pasture land. And in 1883, his dream grew wings and took off. He was a forestry superintendent and the visionary with imagination. Well done sir!

On our walk, we passed through forests of pine and other trees, sat on benches, drank in the beauty of the park, and were in constant admiration of just how beautiful a gift this is to Rab Island.

All of Rab is a delightful look back into time long gone and this park was an exceptional experience.

Great place for little walking and swimming adventure. Beautiful beach and interesting geopark where you can see special examples of geological features and interesting rock mass.

Look for this ancient ruin above St. Christopher's Square (Trg Svetog Kristofora) near the marina. Head up the slight hill just past the open square and on the way to Komrcar Park. There is a man sitting outside the gates who will collect an admission fee which must be paid in Croatian currency. No Euros accepted.

We did admire the curved design of the church (or what remains of it) and it's adjacent to the Tower of St. Christopher which I suppose the entry fee allows you to climb (if you are so inclined).

The original church most likely dates to the 5th century but other revisions occurred in the 11th century. The stones are so brilliantly bright and just enough remains of the ruins to show the curved design and a few columns (or the bases, at least) still in evidence.

On the walk to Komrcar Park, the path goes up along the ruins.

From the Square of Liberty, we came upon this lovely Medieval church but all we could do was pop our camera in the door and take photos. On a Wednesday (our day of visit), no one was there to collect the fee and allow admittance. Do they ever?

It is our understanding that the skull of St. Christopher lies in the reliquary and all we have is blind faith upon which to place that belief. All the more reason to secure the site and not allow anyone one unattended. That is a precious relic.

The origins of the church date back to the 4th and 5th centuries. It is Romanesque (as so much else that was done in that era), and a lovely statue of St. Christopher stands outside the church. He holds a small child on his shoulder as he crosses water.

After a quick peek through church gates (no admittance into the church, remember?), we enjoyed the surrounding views from the neighboring Liberty Square Plaza down into the awesome blue water.

As a note, over time, the church has been through many iterations and face-lifts with countless sanctioned alterations. Fortunately, the Town of Rab has saved and preserved what is left of this lovely relic from the past. May she long endure!

The sculpture of a representation of the "Pieta" at the top of the church entry is strikingly reminiscent of the Gaudi-Barcelona creation where the death of Christ is done with all the primitive elements he could bring to represent the profound pain. This particular Jesus shows his spear wounds to us and his Mother Mary holds his body as though in shock. Mother Mary lovingly supports his neck and holds his body's arm.

Views here are amazing, Even if not interested in church art and history, this location and church are fantastic locations to drink in the local flavor.

Located on upper Rab Town, this paved square (with incredible water views) is recognizable by its huge 100+ year-old Oak tree. It was planted in 1921 after the Island's liberation from Italy.

The museum (where the skull of St. Christopher is housed) lies just at the end of the square (look for the big pink churchlike building). The square is bordered by some historic Medieval buildings.

It is called Trg Svetog Kristofora in Croatian. St. Christopher's relic (his skull) worked miracles for the Island of Rab, protecting them from Medieval invasions. Today, it is the spot near the Marina and leading up to the path to Upper Rab (where Liberty Square is).

The square is the location for yearly celebrations of the saint's death and otherwise serves as a great spot for vendors to set up their booths.

The owner is nice, professional, pedantic. Hygiene is above standard. The fishes are hungry and keen :) and the feet are wonderful after the treatment. I recommend going to fish spa treatment! Entertainment guaranteed.
