What travellers are saying
- DaneshChennai District, India161 contributionsChitradurga Fort can be covered from Bangalore and other nearby cities in a day. It's is also called as fort of Seven circles. Best month to visit is between October-February. This is one of the greatest fort in India and Karnataka as well! History is steeped in this fort, ruled by great kings from 13th-18th century AD and this fort has seen grandeur, pomp, sabotage and has changed hands multiple times. Entry ticket is Rs.20/ and one can hire a guide to get a complete analogy of the fort. The thrill is to reach the peak of the fort-Tuppada Kola. The ascent to Tuppada kola is most dangerous and heart pounding and not for faint hearted and obese people. I made it. One should appreciate our ancestors for such a magnificent piece of architecture. The entire structure is made of heavy blocks of granite and it has 38 entrances, 19 gateways, 35 secret entrances, numerous eater tanks, storages etc. The legendary Women Onake Obavva Kindi who tried protecting the fort and the place has to be seen. Lots can be written but one has to see and explore the place. Less crowd during weekdays. Highly recommended place once in a life time opportunity.Written 2 December 2024This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC. - Prashanth Kallya Shenoy2 contributionsMust visit place. Go in groups, carry torch and take local guide to go inside the cave. It's very scary inside the cave, as there is no light and for the next 20 mins you have no connection with outside world. Without guides help you cannot simply come out of it. At some point of time, guide asks you to switch off all lights and you feel like why you went there !Written 25 January 2020This review is the subjective opinion of a Tripadvisor member and not of Tripadvisor LLC.
