Chitradurga Fort can be covered from Bangalore and other nearby cities in a day. It's is also called as fort of Seven circles. Best month to visit is between October-February. This is one of the greatest fort in India and Karnataka as well! History is steeped in this fort, ruled by great kings from 13th-18th century AD and this fort has seen grandeur, pomp, sabotage and has changed hands multiple times. Entry ticket is Rs.20/ and one can hire a guide to get a complete analogy of the fort. The thrill is to reach the peak of the fort-Tuppada Kola. The ascent to Tuppada kola is most dangerous and heart pounding and not for faint hearted and obese people. I made it. One should appreciate our ancestors for such a magnificent piece of architecture. The entire structure is made of heavy blocks of granite and it has 38 entrances, 19 gateways, 35 secret entrances, numerous eater tanks, storages etc. The legendary Women Onake Obavva Kindi who tried protecting the fort and the place has to be seen. Lots can be written but one has to see and explore the place. Less crowd during weekdays. Highly recommended place once in a life time opportunity.

Must visit place. Go in groups, carry torch and take local guide to go inside the cave. It's very scary inside the cave, as there is no light and for the next 20 mins you have no connection with outside world. Without guides help you cannot simply come out of it. At some point of time, guide asks you to switch off all lights and you feel like why you went there !

I VISITED CHITRADURGA ON 21ST TO 23RD OCTOBER 2023. ON 21ST REACHED CHITRADURGA AND VISITED MURUGA MUATT AND DASSARA CELEBRATION WAS NICE. HAD DINNER AT MUTT AND THEY SERVE RICE, SAMBAR, RASAM, PAYASAM AND PALLYA. ON 22ND VISITED CHITRADURGA FORT, HERE IF YOU GO EARLY YOU HAVE TO BUY TICKET ONLINE BY SCANNING QR CODE AT ENTRANCE AND TICKET COUNTER OPENS AT 10 AM. THIS IS SLIGHTLY NOT FRIENDLY SINCE ALL WILL NOT HAVE ACCESS TO ONLINE TICKET BUYING. ON 23RD VISITED ANKALI MUTT AND GUIDE TOOK RS. 50 PER HEAD TO EXPLAIN AND TAKE US THRU INSIDE THE CAVE. NO TICKET NOTHING IS GIVEN. THIS IS LITTLE NOT USER FRIENDLY SINCE U DONT KNOW IS IT RIGHT AMOUNT OR NOTE. WE STAYED AT AMOGHA INTERNATIONAL HOTEL THROUGH MAKEMYTRIP AND HOTEL IS NOT GOOD FOR FAMILY STAY. IT IS IN MIDDLE OF VEGETABLE MARKET AND RIGHT FROM MORNING 4 AM TILL NIGHT 11 PM IT IS OVERCROWDED. NO PROPER PARKING AT HOTEL AND YOU HAVE TO STRUGGLE FOR PARKING. NO RESTAURANT IN HOTEL. ROOMS ARE IN BAD CONDITION. THIS WAS BAD EXPERIENCE FOR FAMILY STAY. AND MANY OF ROOMS ARE GIVEN FOR PAYING GUEST KIND OF STUDENTS. THERE ARE GOOD HOTELS LIKE DURGADA SIRI OR ASHIRVAD WHICH IS NOT AVAILABLE IN MAKEMYTRIP KIND OF APP.

This is a place not to be missed when one visits Chitradurga fort. No entry fee for visiting the temple. The scenic beauty which is seen standing at this elevation is mesmerizing. One can seen the Shivalinga after adjusting the eyes to the darkness in the garbagudi through the grill gate openings.

The site is a delight with lush greens and rustic “panth”. At the peak of the steep sloped hill is a Lord Ranganatha Temple. The silence of this temple is as loud as its temple bell that fills up the place when rung.trekking is famous here.
